Never Ever Dish

I CALLED dish DUE TO GETTING FLYER IN MAIL AND ON THE advise of my daughter and a friend. Never will I LISTEN TO EITHER OF THEM AGAIN.Guy on phone was very nice. Gave him my debit card number to run my credit. Then was told had to pay $139. to get turned on.Did that.Appointment set up for rep to come out and install. My husband was home at the time he came. When I came in thqat evening I didn't have internet. Called tech support. Finally figured out the tech didn't hook it up. Left the box on the shelf above my desk and wire dangling down. I pluged it in aqnd viola internet. wENT TO TURN TV ON NO CABLE. again CALLED TECH SUPPORT. yOU GUESSED IT. didn't HOOK UP BOX TO TV. I HAD TO DO THAT. (sO PAY ME FOR DOING YOUR WORK.)Cable kept going down mostly in the middle of a good movie. Got first bill. All I can say is wow. Found out someo0ne had pressed button ordering movies. Husband is 89 years old. Finally guy on phone said he could take one off. Lowered the package I had and then I blocked this feature. Next month bill so high couldn't afford it.Had them cut it off.Then next month was checking my bank account and Dish had taken $350 out of my account because they said I had not returned their equipment.They informed me they had sent out the boxes. I informed them I had never received them.I also told them I never authorized them to take my money. The rep. told me that it was part of their speech when I first called. I said I was never told that. I asked to speak to a supervisor someone that spoke English. She finally came on the phone and very rudely and I mean rudely told me they did tell me that and if I would read my contract I would know this.But guess what I never got a contract and there is nothing on my bill stating they can do this. I went to my bank and disputed this and cancelled my visa check card so they couldn't take anymore of my money. By the way we are on a fixed income.I lost the dispute because the complaint department wouldn't corporate with them.I got a bill yesterday and saw where they sent the money back but since the card had been cancelled it was then put on my account as a credit.I called last night and after being treated less than human I ask for someone in America. They transferred me the Texas Center. The rep there was so kind and treated me with respect. His name was Uylessese,code number RNM. He checked with his supervisor and 2 or 3 others and told me to call my bank to make sure they didn't have the money. and to call back today.iF THEY DIDN'T GET THE MONEY THEY COULD SEND OUT A PAPER CHECK. I did, the bank didn't and I called back. Again got a rude rep, again ask for the Texas center. Was told may not get them but would be in America.Got someone in Colorado.She ended up being rude and end result told me I WAS TOLD WRONG LAST NIGHT. They refuse to give me my money back. I just wished I had read all these reviews before I got them.Thank you Dish for having my electricity turned off,because you are keeping my money that was supposed to go to the light company.I really hate to cover even one star, so this is done in protest.


Don\'t go with the DISH!

I was also a customer for 12 years. I decided that because of the small amount of TV we watch anymore, I wasn\'t going to pay $90.95 every month just to watch FOX News or CNN. I can buy a pretty nice exterior antenna and have it installed for what I am paying the Dish. So I called to cancel. Well, you can\'t just \'cancel\'. You have to talk to a \"retention employee.\" They offered to reduce my bill to $59.95 to stay on with them. I said no, still too much money. They put me on hold again. The rep came back and offered me a deal for $24.95 a month and it would include FOX News. I said no, I still don\'t want to pay anything, anymore. The rep then got a little obnoxious with me and said, \"so how much do you want to pay, nothing, you want it for free?\" I said yes, I want it for free and if you can\'t deliver that, then cancel my service, now, immediately. They did. When I walked back into my family room, the receiver had been turned off.
Sorry, but If you go with the dirty DISH, you will be aggravated, frustrated, and have outages every time it rains, snows, or gets very cloudy. Save yourself the headaches, stay away from this DISH. Customer service is not on their \"to do\" list.


Rude

Bill kept going up and every time it stormed network went out. When I called to complain they said it would be $95.00 to reset the dish and wanted to waste my time unplugging and resetting cable lines even though it only happened when it rained. Why should I pay money to fix their problem, guy became very rude yelling at one point so I cancelled service be aware of sign on bonus only last a short while bill goes up and up and very difficult to reason with.

BUYER BEWARE!!! DONT PAUSE YOUR ACCOUNT AND EXPECT TO BE NOTIFIED WHEN YOU ARE BEING CHARGED AGAIN....EVEN IF NONE OF YOUR TVS ARE IN THE HOUSE!!!

Biggest Headache

I switched from Time Warner to Dish because we saw promotion on Tv. After making change the nightmare began. We have called Customer Service at least 50 times. Due to billing errors, increase of monthly bills, problems with our service. Today was the most recent nightmare. I called to upgrade our service to promotion we saw on Tv.. and guess what it dosen\'t apply to existing customer\'s. What Dish does is gets new customers to sign up then after a few months bill starts increasing by $30, then $40, to $50 on top of what ur paying at beginning. I was on the phone with 4 different people to day, they pass u around from a representative to a account specialist and nobody has a solution to ur situation. . They don\'t care about their customers they only care to increase ur bill and to top it off they put u on hold for 3 minutes minimum after trying to see what can they do to solve ur problem or concern and at the end there is no solution. They talk b to you like robots reading of manuals with no clear answer. Once u get on their case about speaking to a supervisor they hang up on you. .
I seriously cannot wait till my 2 years are up to cancel service. ..
Do not recommend to anymore.


Why Dish TV

Had to jump through hoops to get them to upgrade me to their hopper and a joey Service has been ok except for Netflix on 370. Now we are moving and the rental has TV service they want to charge an early termination fee and on top of that they will charge $10.00 per box so I can send back their equipment and it it is obsolete I still pay the $10.00 and toss the equipment.
I did not plan to sell this house when I up graded and the rental has service so how can I continue their service. Customer service person claimed his name was Paul but I strongly suspect that is his Dish name this week based on his very heavy accent. I have always found that customer "service" is in name only.


Equipment Returned

When I cancelled serviced I returned all equipment that was asked except the piece off the internet tower. The tower is located on my roof so Dish waived the 99.00 fee. A month later Dish automatically charged my bank account 99.00 for that piece and caused nsfs totally 102.00.They are refunding the 99.00 for their mistake but not refunding the nsf fees. I feel that is not fair. It's not my fault or mistake it's theirs.I feel Dish should refund the fees that they owe me.Advise to everyone out there. There are better companies that offer cable and internet. Please don't get caught up with Dish when all you will experience is losing money.


Bogus sign on incentive..

Signed on because of a flier with a $200 gift card for signing up.. 8 weeks later and no card and Dish is saying they have never heard of it. ARE YOU SERIOUS?


Customer service

Called inquiring about upgrading to the hopper. I have been a customer for a long time. Both times I called I could not understand the operator speaking with me. They use to have wonderful customer service but where ever their folks are now I couldn't talk with them. Very disappointed in them if they have moved their support out of the country.

I have used dish for over 3 years, paid my bill by allowing them to draft my bank account and never complained until now. I just cancelled my service today and will never ever choose their service again. Their customer service is in the Philippines and I spent over an hour on the phone with them. they were belligerent and inflexible on a cancelation fee. Tell all your friends never to use them. No wonder Netflix is getting so popular.
