ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. It is fast--for a few hours. After one day about five hours anf no downloads no movies no anything other than yahoo msn ebay mlb and kayak. Guess what? I had hit my limit. Okay one day down one month. Next month I last a week
My third month, May 12, I hit about six websites and the next morning I was done. Another 60.00 down the drain.I am going to try a different computer for my next day I mean month. EXEDE BLAMES IT ON THE IMAGES FROM EBAY AND MSN AND YAHOO THAT ARE TRANSMITTED WHEN I VIEW AN ITEM OR ARTICLE.

We live in a rural area and poor DSL was our only service. We live at the end of the DSL "pipe" and the DSL capacity was all used up before getting to us. So we signed up for EXEDE. Don't believe that non-sense about high speed. Transmissions to and from the sat are ok, but then the signal gets to the ground and stops. None of our Yahoo sites work. Delays are so long that the "opening times out". We are so frustrated because our income requires a decent internet connection, and EXEDE is NOT adequate! We are putting our house up for sale and will move to some location were good internet connection is possible. EXEDE is a TOTAL FAILURE!

my wife got this service wen we moved...it sucks ...lied to me about one month ending service ...
i can only use the computer for one week and no service...bad bad bad bad business practice ...
they tried to bully money out of me by holding me by the contract that i did not sign ...so i got pist the fuck offffffff and then i called the fcc they sent me to bbb sent me fbi sent me to ftc filed complaint app then went to the federal attorney office and filed complaint...
then i called direct tv back it was a bundle package...so they were responsible...i told direct tv what i did and they started to talk...they bought my contract from via sat..and then i asked to go over my billing they were over charging me...that is fraud...so i had to call all the federal offices back and file more papers...direct tv they saw it my way... I hope my post helps any one ...p town scottydbody

Ethernet sucks they charge by gigabyte, 2 weeks with their service and I went over the 10 gigabyte they offer, got to pay for each gigabyte extra. To cancel is $360. They will take from your debit card on file. Customer service is also bad.

The service itself is OK and reasonably zippy. The Customer Service is ABSOLUTELY the worst I have ever experienced with any company, and I have done telecom for 30 years. Absolutely the worst. Run fast, run far from these folks.

Bought exede based on their advertisements, typical mistake we all make. Overall I would rate their speed as satisfactory for most uses except video games due to high latency because the satellite is over 20,000 miles away and the best possible ping would be around 600ms. I am able to stream movies on netflix without too much of a problem (atmospheric conditions permitting). I do hit hit their rated speeds often, however even when hitting those speeds they are a bit choppy and not smooth (lots of short micro pauses). The feels like fiber experience they claim is definitely not accurate. To me it feels more like an older 5meg service from comcast even though I do often see download speeds of 10+ meg. The late nite free zone is a great perk. If your monthly data allowance is exceded your speed gets slowed to under 1mbps and then gets reset after midnight for unlimited data at the high speed. However, when you have gone over your monthly allowance don't expect your modem to reset to those fast speeds until 12:30am. They claim your speed should be restored at midnight for the late nite free zone which really means some time after midnight like 12:30. I live in the sticks so I have no other options. That being said, I will continue to use exede internet and they are satisfactorily meeting my needs. Again, I am able to download as much data as I want(late nite free zone), I am able to streams movies, and use the internet for all common purposes at reasonably fast speeds. If you have the option for decent cable service or good DSL you would probably be happier with cable or DSL. If you live in the sticks like me and satellite is your only option then I would recommend Exede high speed service.


Wish we had believed the complaints about Exede

We ran out of data in 2 weeks. After the first several days we realized we would not be able to continue our current usage level so we drastically cut back all usage to just what was necessary (no netflix unless between 12-5 am). We still ran out of data with their largest package of 25 GB. Please do not make the same mistake we did to go with Exede for internet service unless they are absolutely your only option. In addition to the initial installation fees we will now have to pay the disconnect fee of $345. Wow, what an expensive and stressful month of internet service. Note to Exede: If you are really confident in the service you provide, why isn't there a 30-day trial period with no disconnect penalty?

Excede Internet is TERRIBLE! I have had nothing but trouble with them. The service is slow and the customer service is even slower. When I purchased the service, I was told that 15 MB would be sufficient for my needs. I was out of data in less than a week. I was forced to pay off a contract that I never signed…..I would stay away from Excede for your internet services. I have since changed back to cable and it is cheaper and lasts me all month. Excede is TERRIBLE all around!

i have never used the internet Exede provides but they have the best costumer service i have ever had to deal with when looking for a new provider. They returned my call they missed, suggested a different service for what i would use it for and no third party call hotlines.

I bought an extra gigabit to make sure I did not run out and did not use a nano second of it but they charged me. They could have dropped it knowing it was not used---Just wrong in my opinion


1.2 5.0 1231 1231 having seriouse speed issues, complained to company they schedualed a technician to come gave a 3 hour window for the tech to be there, waited the 3 hours then called and they said Exede broadband internet
