ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. The new ViaSat-2 satellite is scheduled to be put into service later this year (2016). SKU UPC Model

Inadequate

Data usage plans are a joke. Wait for cable or use phone internet service.Intermittent outages are too frequent.

Nightmare

Feb 03, 2017 by Deb Wolfe

If you want daily internet nightmares Exede is definitely the internet for you. I'm quite sure part of my blood pressure problems stem squarely in Exede's lap.
Do not put yourself through the torment of using Exede. You will regret using them each and every time you use the internet.
I could go on and on about how pitiful Exede is but you get what I'm saying.

worse service. Slowest load times. Always waiting. Gaming, or downloading, forget about it. Stuck in a two year contract and worse two years of my life.

CANT WAIT TO LEAVE

Jan 27, 2017 by Donna H

I got this because it was the only internet service (so I was told) being used by DIRECTV. Directv I have no real probs with but the internet...see a cloud it goes off, rains, it goes off and now I spent 3 hrs online with the computer repair guy who says it is the connection. I am thinking it is and sat on the phone for half hr for something that told me that there was a 15 mins wait. Still waiting and cannot do what I need to on pc. So as soon as I can I am switching to cable internet and even if I have to switch tv providers. still waiting and this wont go through either

Don't walk, run!!!!

If I could give them -5 I would. They are the single worst internet I've ever had. I would rate AOL dial up above them. They claim I go through my data in 2 weeks then want me to buy more. On the liberty plan you hit the data cap and they slow you down to dial up, on the essentials plan you hit the data cap cap you you can open a search page but that's it. I don't use 1/4 of what they say I use on my phone and I stream videos but just checking emails and going on Facebook using all my data on theirs in 2 weeks? And you have to take their word for how much you use, they can't show you. I've never went through as much data as they say I do, even when I watched Netflix, streamed music etc with other providers. You get your statement the same day they take your payment out of your checking account and if you want to cancel your service it's $15 a month for every month left on your contract plus you have to send all the equipment back yourself. And unless you want to pay them to service their equipment you have to pay extra every month and be a preferred customer. They are a total rip off!!! Because I hit my data cap I have to get up in the middle of the night to get on or go to someplace with free wifi. The worst ever!!!

No Problems, Great Service

Jan 23, 2017 by Roger Mills

I don't review a lot of things but when I was looking to change my isp I extensively researched satellite. Where I live it is either satellite or DSL, neither are cheap but I satellite is cheaper. I finally just went for it and got exede. My experience has been positive. I stream a lot of video and do not experience any problems. Now at first I was on there 12 gb package, and it was okay but I quickly burned through those and my speed reduced. I could still stream video with minimal buffering, however when I used my laptop the buffering would understandably increase. I simply upgraded my plan, and often check through speedtest.net and am pleasantly surprised that often my speed is over there promised 25mbps limit.
I know that if you are a online gamer, this service probably won't meet your needs, but in my use for streaming movies, web publishing, youtube and typical internet usage I have not run into any problems. We have had several storms, wind gust in excess of 50 m.p.h. and clear days, and the service has been consistent and reliable throughout.
This has just been my experience, and from that I would recommend it.

Disappointed

I like the people at Exede, as they've been friendly and helpful. However, I just checked my download speed and it was 1.48. My upload speed is .49. I don't feel that I'm getting what I'm paying for and will probably have to make a change soon. Also limited to only 10gb. Free between 12am and 5 am doesn't do me any good. Things were much better when I first signed on. Perhaps it's customer overload??

Worst internet ever! Never works and very slow. They will send out the service guy 10 times to "adjust" the satellite and nothing ever happens. Recently canceled and signed up with a local company. 1st day I had the best signal in a year. By all means.....DO NOT order Excede!! If you do, you will "excede" the biggest rip off of your life!!

Terrible Satelite Service and Customer Service

Jan 19, 2017 by Erin

Sadly, I've had this internet service going on 4 years as it is the only option as of now where I am located. The internet speed is extremely slow and not worth what I am paying. Somehow, on more than one occasion, all of my data was used the immediate next day after my billing cycle started over. No one hacked my wifi, etc. In addition to that, twice I have called to make a payment over the phone. More recently, to actually update my payment information. It was even noted during that call that I was calling to make a payment. Well, that representative failed to process my payment, which in turn resulted in my internet service being suspended. When calling to make a payment for a second time, I used the automated system, then spoke to a representative. Because of their mistake I now have to wait 24 hours for my internet to resume "because I paid via the automated service." A good company that is appreciative of their customers would resume service seeing as it was clearly their mistake in the first place. Terrible internet service and customer service. Hoping for another option very soon for internet.

1.2 5.0 1231 1231 having seriouse speed issues, complained to company they schedualed a technician to come gave a 3 hour window for the tech to be there, waited the 3 hours then called and they said Exede broadband internet
