ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. The new ViaSat-2 satellite is scheduled to be put into service later this year (2016). SKU UPC Model

Modem didn\'t work, after several attempts they came out fixed it was fixed. After 10 months attempting to contact the service provider no answer. I was told it was a one year contract. And come to find out with ViaSat it\'s a two year contract. Misled by the installer and dealer. Wouldn\'t recommend to anyone.

Somebody Help Me

Mar 22, 2016 by Renaldo Garrett

Terrible service, terrible customer service and just a horrible experience. They start you out with 10 GB, it runs out in like a day then they want you to purchase more data for more money or you will have pretty much dail-up speed until the next month. It's pretty much a rip off. I also have to pay $250 to get out of the contract. Customer service is rude, will try to over talk you. Never experienced anything like it. Warning don't do it!!!!!

Service Down 10 of past 14 Days: No Help From Exede

Mar 21, 2016 by Sheila Siegel

Service down 10 of past 14 days. Supposedly escalated to corporate as they are having an internal problem that is affecting my service. Credit is less than daily amount! Run, don\'t walk, away from Exede.

I was told my service would be $49.99 monthly plus tax. It was installed on Tuesday and I had to purchase a router for $40 from the installer. I receive a bill on Thursday for $73. I called customer service to inform hem what I was told versus the bill, and that I didn\'t want the service at all. He told me that I needed to pay an early termination fee (I was told 90 days to try the service). Sheesh, am I glad that I didn\'t give them my credit card number. I asked them out to retrieve their property, and the CSR wanted to give me 6 phone numbers to find out which company came out. All I can say is RUN FAST, CSR\'s ATTEMPT TO BULLY YOU...IT\'S JUST NOT WORTH IT!! SHAMEFUL!!

I would definitely not recommend this service to anyone that is looking for a quality internet service. It is slow and a big part of data is used in just trying to load a site.
Will be looking for different options as soon as our contract is up

Worst Service Ever

Mar 21, 2016 by midge

This is the worst service ever. We've had nothing but trouble with them. When I called to cancel (I never signed a contract), they said I still had 20 months left in my contract. I asked them to send me a copy of my signed contract, they said I would have to suponea them to get it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Internet NEVER works, then they want to charge you $95 to have someone come out EVERYTIME!!

don't do it

Service is expensive $139 for 25gb not enough for Netflix or Xbox live. I don't remember the exact speed but the few times we tried to watch movies we had to wait for buffering several times. Now that I'm moving and cancelling the service they're charging me for a full month of service that I used for 2 days. They're charging me $150 dollars for the receiver that I can't remove myself or $95 to send someone to remove it for me. They take full advantage of folks that have no other options.

BUYER BEWEAR, RUN

We live in a very poor area for internet service and have only been able to use a 512k through our phone service. We had Excede come out and they too were not sure we could get it but they put up the satellite and all was suppose to be well. Two of their reps assured us that 10GB was plenty of usage for playing games on FB and using facebook. They also said we would be able to stream 3 or 4 movies before using up our allowance. After, just 9 DAYS we have used 58% of our usage and have NOT streamed anything. It is NO FASTER than the 512k and if it rains here or somewhere near here it doesn't work. I called to cancel and found out our plan is for 2 years (I didn't know) and it will cost us $345, to cancel. Also, they forgot to tell me that I had to buy my own router since their modem does not have one built it. That cost me over a $100. So, between the $64, to start to plan, $100+ for a router, and $345, to cancel, we will have invested $500 on a slow provider that will have no usage left for us after only a half a month!! PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND RUN!

Poorest Service I have ever seen

Mar 17, 2016 by Joe Rogers

After 6 hours of waiting for the Service Tech to show up to install my dish - I get a call... "Sorry, my truck broke down..." I said - "sorry, I have missed an entire day of work now waiting for you - and you couldn't even call to let me know. You need to find a way to get here, or get someone else to come in your place - either way this service must be installed today, because I cannot take another day off work." The Service Tech hung up on me! Didn't say another word. Then I called into Exede to get a different Tech to come out - and they wouldn't even try. Just refunded my money & said "sorry we couldn't help you..."

Don't do business with these people! You will be disappointed!

100% Satisfied

After suffering for years with slow dial-up, Exede is WONDERFUL! The installer was friendly and professional, the telephone agents have always answered quickly and been helpful and well-informed, the cost for Internet plus Voice is less than same from ATT plus dial-up ISP. After using up our allotted Gigabytes of priority service, the Liberty Pass has been slower, but adequate. Heavy rain does block out service temporarily, but with our ATT landline, rain would sometimes degrade service and it might be a week before it was corrected. One complaint: the modem gives off a chemical smell when running, especially in the first couple of weeks, less now. Because of this, and to distance us from any possible Radio Frequency leakage from the modem, I am moving the modem and Voice box to the out building where the satellite dish is, and running a Cat6a LAN cable into the house for the computer, and a phone line to the ATT interface box on the outside of the house, (after disconnecting the landline wires, of course, which will port the Voice service into all our phone extension points.)through a conduit. Considering Exede? Do it!
