ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. 4.8 GIG IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS - NO DAMN WAY EXEDE/WILDBLUE!!
I am now considering contacting our state attorney general concerning Thieft Via Services!!

I have been a Wildblue/EXEDE customer for well over 10 years and complain on a regular basis about the way they meter data.

I have a BS in Computer Science, retired from Texas A&M University as Sr. IT/Lan Administrator for 20+ years.

After paying for 25 gigs for several years and running out of data after 10-15 days every month, I switched to the liberty 15 and now the loberty 10 because no matter what program I am at my max data within a few days.

My wife & I surf stores and do facebook. We do not stream and very seldom watch youtube. There is no way in hell that we could use 25 gig a month but according to EXEDE they say we do. Our router is very secure, we live way out in the country and my router does not reach our front, side or back fence lines, our guest connection is turned off and our phones are very seldom connected.

PLEASE ANSWER ME HOW ANYONE CAN USE 4.8 GIG IN 24 HOURS!!

Exede-Viasat unreliable

Exede Satellite internet 10gig 12mbs $60/month

Have to say that installation was quick, they even showed up on Sunday to install.

Equipment all says Exede or Viasat, dish is about 1 meter.

The system just drops connection now and then, it has nothing to do with rain fade or weather, my system works well, because I am registered professional electrical engineer. It will sometimes clear up after several minutes, or sometimes it takes all day. Additionally, I have several computers tied to the system and they all work the same, and I have connections to two other internets, Century link at 1mbs, and Verizon hot spot at 8mbs, and they work fine, can change between them at will. Also tried direct connection to computer via cable and no change.

Then there is the data usage issue. I normally use about 8 of my 19 gig, but now and then it all disappears in a matter of hours or a day or two. When I call up help line, they say everything is fine, and I used it all. I know I am not being hacked, because I am even too far from the road for wireless to reach that far. When I ask for a hard accounting so I can troubleshoot what happened, the refuse to provide. Tech support never can help me, and they offer nothing off the bill or do not try to make amends of any kind.

I will say, that when it is working, I sometimes even get my full speed, and most of the time it is running at 3/4 speed. It's just that when I am on it, I am trying to work, and that's when it goes down.

Stay away from these people


Terrible service

This was the worst mistake we have ever made! It cost about $50 to install since we had to do a pole mount. They would not attach it to our home (stucco)or roof (metal). From day one, immediately the download and upload speeds were good except the PING time was between 600-900. As I have learned that is terrible and cause severe lag. I was not told their PING time was so high. I inquired with Exede and DirecTV to verify the services I was getting. I also mentioned gaming and never once was I told this wouldn't work. They kept reassuring me that it was the best and the fastest out there.

After about a week of complaining they offered me to pay half to get out of my 2 year contract. I ended up paying for 1 months service $60ish and $180 to cancel and get out of my contract.

DON'T SIGN UP FOR EXEDE, VIASAT or WILDBLUE. They are all the same and they are a SCAM!! Please don't make the same mistake I did!!

Service was installed on 12/31; supposedly used all of our 30 GB data by 1/2. Thought the kids were over using the data, reset the password. on 1/11, the service just stopped working. We called the support number, went through trouble shooting and then was told that a technician would be out on 1/13 between 2-5 (oh, and we will waive the $95 service call fee since you haven't been with us 90 days yet). About 4:15 on the 13th, I called because the tech hasn't came, and was told that the tech had never been scheduled. After an hour on the phone, I had a new tech scheduled for 1/15 however, there has been an outage in my area which caused the issue and it would be resolved no later than midnight of the 13. I told them to keep the appointment in case we still had an issue the next day. Today we still have no service. I called and was told that we do not have a service call scheduled. They can't schedule them during an outage (which the guy on Monday evidently didn't know we had) and that they could schedule a technician for Saturday. I guess we will see on Saturday if they show. NOT HAPPY with their service. Customer Service SUCKS completely.


Another bad company

I tried to get this service. Wish I would have read reviews first. First appointment to install was a no show. 1/2 day waisted. 2nd appointment they showed up to tell me they couldn't install it on my house because it was stucco. 95% of the houses in Az are stucco. They need to install a pole to mount the dish but can't dig without blue stake verifying the lines. Not sure why this couldn't be discussed when they made the appointment. Another 1/2 day waisted. Called customer service and they could care less.


Speedtest good; actual speed poor

Signed up for Exede Liberty 12. Speedtests show I'm getting 20mb down and 3.5mb upload. HOWEVER, the actual performance is slower than my still-installed DSL that tests at 4mb down and 0.5mb up. Called tech support. They condescendingly explain how far the satellite is from earth therefore it takes a while for data to travel. Before installation I specifically said I have IP cameras needing remote access. Was told there would be inital latency (ok with me) then a smoother view than my DSL. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Yesterday when I called tech support they said their service is not intended for security cameras, even for infrequent viewing (vs continuous recording). VERY FRUSTRATED and would not recommend to anyone.

I wanted to use this service but when the tech came out he couldn't install the system because we had two trees standing the yard, so the service was cancelled then.This happened on Dec 16th and when I called they kept telling me that it would take longer to get the refund, The last time I called which was today 1/11/16 they told me that service was stopped on the 29th and I will get the money back in my account on the 18th it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out,


Worthless

Zero stars. Used only 2GB of data over the 7 days. Averaged much less than 3 MBPS (usually less than 2 MBPS), nowhere near the 12 MBPS promised. They ran their own speed test on my line, and they AGREED it was slow! They said their network is just too congested - like that's my fault! But they still expect me to pay. Cancelled. Wouldn't recommend this service to my worst enemy.


Excede Internet

Worst internet service I have ever seen. Uses 10G in a matter of a few days. Very slow already then cuts the speed when you get near the 10G. When you call customer service all you get is you will have to pay for a year.

The 1st 2 months were great on the lowest $ plan. Suddenly my internet keep shutting down or going into a flashing mode and has to be shut off and restarted.It started using all my data quckly and not getting the same amount of things done. I called for a tech and a week later he called to inform me that he wouldn't be in my area and to climb up on the roof and tighten it ( I am a 100% disabled Vet) I don't climb on roofs. I have called so many times and waited on hold to get NOTHING done but excuses. Now I am just waiting until june when my service time is up to change service. If you want bad service, high charges and horrible internet. This ones for you. Too bad because I really wanted a long term internet service I could depend on. I feel ripped off and angry every month.
