ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. The new ViaSat-2 satellite is scheduled to be put into service later this year (2016). SKU UPC Model

Pathetic Services

Rating: ZERO (had to choose 1 star)
DO NOT BOTHER GETTING. My service ran out in 5 days. Tried calling that night to cancel and was told I had exceeded my GB and could not cancel unless I paid $15.00 for the remaining months on the contract. No cancellation period without penalty. That would be all freaking 24 months. The first month didn't even last a full week. I then called AT&T and received services 2 weeks later. I took down my Exede equipment and the router I had to buy. Fast forward 2 months (because I still have to pay since I haven't yet had them disconnect the services) and my online account says "100% used of 15 GB allowance." I don't see how that is possible when I do not have their services hooked up to my devices. And I am not one to do reviews, so this says a lot.

Rude horrible install contractor

Sep 09, 2015 by Ilona Painter

I just got a flyer from Exede Internet so I called to see cost and service requirements. The Service contractor from MJG Installation services called me back after I left message. I asked questions and told him what service I was looking for.The guy from MJG Installation Services got rude and said I was crazy and must have Teretz syndrome and hung up on me. Thank god I did not decide to go with them. What rude person. Exede don't hire rude subcontractor, all that will do is give you NO new customers. Disgusted inquirerer.

Not My Best Plan

Sep 09, 2015 by Alexis Jackson

First of all the internet didn't work the second they set it up. I called immediately and they sent the tech back who said it was fine. It wasn't. The woman I then spoke to on the phone asked me to try it for a few days because it wouldn't matter if I cancelled then or two days later. I called two days later and cancelled. The rep on the phone told me there would be no cancellation fee. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for over $300. When I called again this new rep basically told me too bad, that the other one should not have told me there was no fee because there is one so I have to pay it. I am now battling with them regarding this fee. The internet was so bad I left the house I was living in. Obviously this is a bad choice. It's unfortunate that I wasn't smart enough to look at these reviews first.

Worse than the DMV

Between the low internet speeds and the horrible customer service, I would steer clear of this company. What they don't tell you when you sign up is the upload speed. Mine has never been above 1Mbps! My download speeds average around 7Mbps. It's ridiculous. I can't watch a movie continuously through. The 12 mbps they advertise is the MAX guarantee, not the minimum. My friend's Comcast speeds average around 50Mbps (download) and 17Mbps (upload). The modem stopped working less than 2 weeks after they installed it and i was never credited for the time i was without service.

Customer Service: The installation of my satellite took weeks and 3 attempts. Once the truck broke down on the way and they never called to inform me or reschedule. When they finally got the satellite installed they drilled 5 holes from the roof into my ceiling! So I now have 5 1/2 inch holes in my ceiling. Getting them to come back and do it over and repair the holes has been a major hassle and it still isn't done almost a month later. The last call I made to schedule a repair visit, the rep failed to record it in the system and so noone ever showed up. When I called they acted like I made it up and never called to schedule in the first place. I asked to speak to a supervisor to explain my experience with Exede and the supervisor told me he doesn't have customer service training! He promised a credit to my acct of 149.89 for my trouble (David #SLV1750) and to call back after Sept 1 to confirm the credit had been made, but when I called back, the new rep said the credit was only because they had charged me twice accidentally. This company is one of the worst I've ever experienced. It borders on corrupt. If you are a customer I highly recommend keeping a detailed written record of all communications with them and ask for the service rep's id numbers. Good luck!

Terrible Customer Relations

Sep 06, 2015 by Jerry

The product itself was good, internet worked well, except during storms. My issue is I had this service for 28 months, sold this house, and called to discontinue the service. Which while talking with the customer service rep, she cancelled the service, then proceeded to explain that since my service had already billed for 9-4 to 10-4 I would not be given a refund for the unused days. Ok, so I asked her to continue my service until 10-3, since we would be in/out moving. She told me she could not do that since I had just cancelled, and that I would have to pay a re-connect fee of $60.00.

That is totally unacceptable!!

PAY MONTHLY FOR NOTHING

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! No wireless router, the service is extremely slow WHEN/IF it works at all. It takes forever to reach customer service who will just try to convince you to stay! The service could be $1 monthly and I would not want it!

Didnt get the service i was told

Sep 02, 2015 by Marilyn Badillo

I was told I would get unlimited Wi-Fi and unlimited local and long distance phone service. I got service Friday the 28th and was charged 100.51 and when I called them that\'s when I discovered I wasn\'t getting what I was told. Then I was told that the installer signed my name electrically. I\'m passed. They said I have to stay in the agreement that I didn\'t sign. There nothing but %!$!.

WORST COMPANY EVER!

Sep 02, 2015 by Amy Russell

This company has been a nightmare from beginning to end. From the internet service not working for half of the first month (no credit given) to the long wait times to techs not showing up. I recently got married and cancelled my service in June (so I thought) only to get a suspension notice. After a total of 6 plus hours on the phone with them all together I have been told there is nothing I can do and I have to pay $60.21. Oh, not to mention I was hung up on after I stated I would not be paying this. How can you have service call notes and not withold what you tell the customer? How is this legal? Now I am told if I do not pay this I will go to collections. This company is one of the worst I have ever delt with. Stay away!

Pathetic

This is the slowest internet service I've ever had. Worse than dial-up. In fact, I'd go back to dial-up because it would be an improvement. Even during their non-peak hours where I have "free" open use, their top speed according to Exede, movies buffer forever and websites are ridiculously slow to load. I'm more than happy to pay the cancellation fee because it will get me away from this company and service. Think twice before using.

Service sucks

Sep 01, 2015 by Ginger Jones

Have had this service for one week and finally got tired of being kicked off the internet and signed onto the hot spot on my cell phone. We got rid of Hughes net because of poor service, Exede makes them look like the best carrier around. Should have stuck with my Verizon Hot Spot, never fails me......Oh, and I was forced to give them a star

1.2 5.0 1231 1231 having seriouse speed issues, complained to company they schedualed a technician to come gave a 3 hour window for the tech to be there, waited the 3 hours then called and they said Exede broadband internet
