ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. The new ViaSat-2 satellite is scheduled to be put into service later this year (2016). SKU UPC Model

Please take other reviews seriously, we just moved 4 days ago and had DirecTV and other services turned on the same day and we really wish we had NOT. Here comes our Excede guy, not very polite at all. Yes, he got our service up and running but not friendly or wanting to answer our questions.

Yes, the internet functions, online gaming is okay. 5 days after our install and after paying $99 2 weeks ago we get a bill, not for the $49 as advertised but for $75.24. We called to discuss the bill and the lady might as well been a robot "Yes Mr. XXX I'll be more than happy to assist you with that today....blah blah. After several minutes of back and forth we wanted to cancel our service because we feel that we were mis-lead and taken advantage of....Drum roll, you have to pay a termination fee of $15/month for 23 months for over priced mediocre service that you can't "try out"

If you have any other option please explore it, you'll thank me!


Exede\'s illegal contract.

If you are looking for a high speed internet service, Excede has that. However there are some facts you should consider before getting Excede service. Most importantly there is NO GRACE PERIOD. Soon as they install your dish you are locked into their contract. It will cost you $15.00 a month for the remaining contract months to cancel service, The basic package of which I got, allows 10GB of data per month. If you watch HD movies that allows for 3 movies a month. Excede boasts of a free time zone where watching movies doesn't use any data, that is 12 midnight to 5:00 am. I recommend a cable internet for movie watchers.


Worst internet EVER!

This internet is so BAD! When we purchased Exede we got 20 GB which would last a week. It said we get unlimated internet 12-5 am. It worked for a while but it stoped working. The internet messes up so much and is the worst thing. why would you ever get this. Sometime I think exede is being run by a smart 12 year old stealing peoples money but dosent know what he is doing.TURN BACK NOW!

I wouldn't even give them a star based on customer service and retention. After an exceptional install by a contractor called Mastech and 18 months of service, we are done. The Internet service itself is just ok. Unfortunately we are limited where we live. I made a service call on May 22. Tech was scheduled for May 30. 30 minutes before arrival, tech from Jag Solutions canceled due to personal matter. Neither Jag nor Exede were willing to provide an alternate tech. We re scheduled for June 6. On June 6 tech arrived, informed us that we had an alignment issue. However, he would not correct the problem because the satellite location did not meet Jag Solutions requirements. Exede didn't care where the unit was. Tech wanted to re install the unit on a pole and risk digging where our water and phone land lines were both located. He didn't have an answer when I said unit had worked fine for 18months. Why move now? He replied that was his only option per his supervisor. Consequently the supervisor was not available on Saturday. Made several calls to Exede with no help. It was the contractors decision. It was determined that the contractor only wanted to charge fee. When I asked what would happen if he hit one of my lines, I was told he would not be responsible. REALLY?. Because I am under the 2 year commitment, I have to give Exede 30 days to rectify the problem or I will be charged a Term fee. Exede, as yet, cannot find a contractor to service my area. Their customer service people want to know why I haven't tried to find someone on my own. Again, REALLY? If I have an agreement with you why is that my responsibility ? I have 6 more of the 30 days to wait while they try to contact a "dealer" to service my unit. I am required to call every 72 hours while they change my "sales channel" and attempt to find a dealer. Beware of the Exede 2 year commitment. There's no way out when they don't perform as expected.


terrible customer service

Don\'t order Internet from Excede or Wild Blue! The service is non existent. I have even set up service calls and they don\'t show. They don\'t forget to charge. My credit card and will not refund any money even though I have not had service for over a month.

The internet service is ok. The customer service is horrible. In the first 3 weeks of my account with them they erroneously charged my credit card over $800 in bogus charges. They charged my credit card for 4 other Exede user accounts. Even when I told them I had the incorrect user account names and account numbers they would not fix the over billings. I had this information because Exede mailed these customer bills to my house. By far the worst customer service experience I have ever had and makes me wonder how the rest of the company is run. I always say customer service is the window to the soul of a company.

Be very vigilant watching your credit card charges with this company.

Never again. This is the worst experience with a satellite Internet company I have ever experienced. Total lack of communication between departments, lies, and just a complete lack of respect for my time and needs. This time around I have been without service for an entire week! I was promised a service call the first time 4 days out from my original call. 4 days people!!!! Only to receive a call the morning of the scheduled appointment to say that they have to reschedule 3 days out! I took my complaints all the way up to corporate only to be placated by the usual bs lines they feed you. We're so sorry, etc... blah, blah, blah... on the day of the last service call I receive a phone call stating they would not be arriving on time. At this point my blood is boiling! I yet again call customer service to complain knowing that there is nothing they can do only to be told I have an attitude with the rep. Well wouldn't you have an attitude after being told lies and sold unfilled promises? Lol So the tech finally makes it out here. Turns out customer service diagnosed the problem wrong. Shows you what they know. The tech was able to resolve the issue after some trouble shooting. It was a bad modem. Anyone else have this problem? After picking the techs brain for a bit I learned they are severely understaffed and that he wasn't even informed of the first service call order earlier in the week. He also told me some bs line about trying to come out yesterday but couldn't get access because of some fair. Ummm hello, I was in the area most of the day and there was no fair, second there are mutiple access points to my neighborhood, and third no one called to say they were sending a tech out yesterday. More lies. So, if you want to be lied to your face, placated with bs and sold a service that is not up to snuff and wil not fulfill your needs, by all means, choose exede.If not, choose another provider because you will be sorry. #boycottexede

Not the best internet in the world and definitely not the cheapest, but so for my experience has been positive. Very costly but hoping that some things will improve as they grow. I would love to see unlimited eventually but not holding my breath. The guy who set me up was most helpful. I was surprised I had a bill already after one day but I love the internet and would do anything to get it and so they had me by the balls. Until there is another option in my part of the county then I will have to stay with EXEDE.


Contract should be criminal

Do your research and read these reviews. This is a company that exploits it's customers with a contract that is completely one sided. And they can because there are not many options. I am speaking as a customer since 2009. That's seven years of on time, loyal payments. When it came time to move and cancel my service, I was charged for the upcoming month, the disconnect fee, and given a strict lecture on equipment returns or a $300.00 fee. What upset me the most is getting billed for the upcoming month despite not being connected. She said "If you call your bank to stop that ACH, we will send you to collections." I was always forgiving with the slow internet and spotty down time, but this boils my water! It is now my personal mission to inform potential customers about the way Exede chooses to take advantage of customers by locking them into a horrible contract. Just say No!


Worst Internet EVER

Excede Internet is the slowest internet conection I've ever had. I have a high to middle package and watching 3 shows (yes 3 1/2 hour episodes eat entire Gigs) on Hulu will eat up our entire monthly allowence. My family is upset with never having internet. I've called to see how watching three episodes on Hulu could max out an entire month of Gigs and was hung up on no fewer than 6 times. They also would transfer my call to spanich speaking service. They have the worst customer service and the worst service for internet I've ever heard of and I'm STUCK for 2 years with a contract. So unhappy. RUN TO ANY OTHER OPTIONS for internet DO NOT GO WITH EXCEDE
