ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. The new ViaSat-2 satellite is scheduled to be put into service later this year (2016). SKU UPC Model

One week and it's the worst service ever

Apr 06, 2015 by Kim Giles

This experience has been a joke. The salesman made promises that have not been kept, no even 50% of the band width he promised has ever been available. Clear skies sun shiny days and the worst service ever. I have been on the phone to them every single day to correct the issue and they have continued to lie to me. They schedule tech support phone calls that are never returned, they schedule tech support to come to my house in ten days, anything they can to prolong the situation to keep me with service contact

Stay away!

Horrible customer service, way behind the times. Can't pay ahead, only on due date, and only through their website. Double disconnect fees than other companies. Way too expensive for such terrible service. They make it very difficult to disconnect service. Ridiculous. I wouldn't even give 1 star, but this review required it.

Exede

Apr 03, 2015 by Jennifer Jolliff

Exede was not able to provide the speed as advertised, except for the day the tech hooked it up. Then the service just kept getting worse. They finally told us it was our line to the house that was the problem, it wasn't. We still are using the same line with another company and it works fine. The worse part was we had 10gb per month and could pay for extra if needed. Within 5-10 days, according to exede it was used up. We switched to Dish and we barely use 10. Right now my plan with Dish (3 days until the new month starts), I have only used 6.5gb. Why is this company not brought up on charges? It seems to be a common thread here and shouldn't be difficult to prove. And then to be responsible for the rest of the contract?? When exede couldn't live up to their promise. I wouldn't even give them 1 star but you have to for the review.

worst customer service

The service was super expensive and then I was exciding the amount for a lot and had to buy more. When I bought more they charged me twice instead of one time, like if I had bought two times on the same day. I cancelled the service, sent the equipment back and they charged my credit card because according to them they didn't receive the equipment. When I called customer service ricky and other that I don't remember were very rude and both hung up on me. I provided with the tracking number and they said that they were going to submit my the ticket but the refund will be done in 14 to 28 days. WOW. Worst company every!!!!!

installation no show 2x

Apr 03, 2015 by kyle

I gave 1 star because 0 was not an option. I wish I could give an actual review of the internet but they no showed on the installation twice. When I called they gave excuses like the phone they called was busy. I have a cell phone, they don't have a busy signal. They also claimed they tried on 3/29 which is a Sunday, when I set up the installation, Sunday was not an option. Then they claimed they tried a number that does not exist, yet my number pulled the account info for them. After about an hour of their excuses they directed me to a different number. When they no-showed the 2nd time, I called that number and they had no records. By far one of the worst customer service experiences ever and they didn't care they were losing a potential customer. Avoid them if at all possible, dial up would be less frustrating.

Do not use

Very intermittent service that goes in and out many times and hour. Inaccurate data measuring resulting in "using" allowance before month is up. No way to remove your credit card or bank information from their system. I had to cancel the card to safely cancel the service. The service goes in and out because it is way oversubscribed with too many users for bandwidth available. Installation was also terrible - We were lied to about it not being able to be put on roof and the cable was laid in the rain gutter and then less than 1" underground, resulting in it coming up where the mower would have hit it if we hadn't noticed.

Buyer Beware

Apr 01, 2015 by Linda Roller

I needed to cut costs of my services so I decided to switch services to Direct, Excede internet and phone, out of Sweetwater, the TV part was ok, with a few exceptions. Excede on the other hand was a mess, the installer (Justin) cut my phone wire, I am disabled, have had a stroke and live alone, my security system is connected to my phone. OK, he said someone would be here the next morning with the adapter to connect my phone, no one showed up. I called to find out why no one came and they told me that it took up to 7 days to get the adapter. HE BARE FACED LIED TO ME! I called every day and spoke to someone different (Tom, Raul, John, Steve). I have talked to every supervisor between Texas and New Jersey and all I get is promises, my old carrier charged me $60.00 to reconnect my phone. I told Excede I wanted my money because they cut my wire without asking. They said they would file a claim. Then on top of it all, I was charged for phone services when the phone was never connected and cancelled, I was charged a disconnect fee.
I am not going to give up, I will continue to call everyday until they are sick of me.
My billing is so messed up, I have no idea what I'm paying, it is supposed to be $92.58 but who knows.
Like I said "BUYER BEWARE"

RIP OFF STAY AWAY!!!!

NOT EVEN WORTH 1 STAR!

The worst experience ever! I purchased a bundle through direct TV and in my area they only use Exede for internet. I contacted Exede and set up an install date AFTER a closing on a vacation house last October. The closing was last week in November. They continued to call every other day a whole month prior to change the install date to get in earlier to install the service. I kept having to tell them over and over that THE CLOSING WASN'T FOR ANOTHER MONTH, therefore I cannot get into the house! I should have seen the red flags!
They installed it and service is slow and shoddy, but whatever, it's a vacation home and we do a lot of other things.

So, starting the very first month, I get calls that my bill is past due. They have my credit card on file but they don't ever seem to charge it. Then they call or email saying the card wouldn't go through and the bill is past due. I check my card in my account and on the phone with them and the number/exp date is correct. Then I manually pay it on their website with no issues. I wonder why I can do this but they cannot. This has happened every billing cycle since I started with them.

Data: They are now saying my family just used 20GB in 4 days (I have 2 children under the age of 3 that don't use internet). My family doesn't use that a month in our home! I called to find out what is going on and they want me to pay for extra GB's and after reading hundreds of reviews, it looks like they are extorting their customers. My vacation home is remote and there are not many service providers so they know they can get away with it.
Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. They have not resolved any of these issues and I believe they are ripping off their customers claiming over-usage. I'm trying to locate another provider but if I cannot, I am still canceling their service. I don't need the headache.
I will be happy the day I read about a class-action lawsuit against them. They are a complete rip off. Mark my words, they will get nailed one day.

Awful experience

Apr 01, 2015 by Cheryl

In all fairness, my monthly service for 6 months was reasonably priced and reliable. The couple of calls I had with their customer service were professional and I was generally happy with service though the limited data I had every month kept me very mindful of every minute I was using the internet.

My relationship with them turned sour when I called to cancel service. I had bought a new home and I could get a DSL service there which would let my daughter watch her beloved Netflix without burning up the data. Obviously their services were no longer needed. However, I did say the new people moving In would likely be continuing service but they could have cared less.

My charge was over 300...ugh, but I guess I can deal with that. Then they told me I needed to return the transponder and the box. I asked what is a transponder and the lady on the phone acted like I was an idiot for not knowing. Finally she told me I couldn't miss it. It was the only thing outside that could be removed with a Philips head screwdriver and had four screws.

Wrong! It does not take Philips head screw drivers. To top it off their installer had it in an area that is impossible for a "normal" person to get (sure if you are under forty and have the proper ladder at home and tools this may be possible...but we don't all fit that bill). After falling off the roof I made another call to them crying (literally) and they agreed to send someone out to get transponder and waive their 125 (or was it 150) fee. He came out, lived less than five miles away and had proper tools and training....2.5 minutes and it was down. 125.00 for this! Seriously? The best was it wasn't even a Philips screw driver and took a specialty one AND he needed wire cutters which they never mentioned.

As if it could get any worse..it does. I gave them my new address as this was 24 hours before I vacated property and new people were moving in. They had to send me a box to mail back their all important transponder (their guy couldn't take it with him) and they mailed the box to the old residence. I told them I would not be there or able to get mail there. Their goal is to charge you the 300 for the pieces! They count on customers not returning the items so they can charge them. When I asked to speak to manager or supervision I am sure I just got the next person in cubical with no real power.

I did tell the next people to NOT go with this company. I do not recommend.

worst company ever!!!!

Apr 01, 2015 by Austin

I had a local wireless company that the bigger it got the slower the internet went.so I switched to
Directv so I could add internet and save 10 bucks a month.so then I found out they don't bundle with excede in my area.we would run out of are 10 gig in about 10 days. Then it's was real slow.If you use a wireless router it's bad.I had a customer rep tell me that they slow it down more if you have a router.for the first three months the over charged me and took a month to be refunded.I got the local cable company to do construction at no cost to me.I also cancelled my debit card to avoid being charged any early termination fees.this place is here to mange money and that is all!!!!Never go with any satellite internet they're all the same.

1.2 5.0 1231 1231 having seriouse speed issues, complained to company they schedualed a technician to come gave a 3 hour window for the tech to be there, waited the 3 hours then called and they said Exede broadband internet
