DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT order Hughes Net. This is the worst internet service I have ever had. Not worth the monthly fees! Customer service is almost as slow as the internet!

Can you give no stars! The cost of this service is 4 times what most places charge for slow service and minimal gigs. Customer Service never reads their notes and just reads from a manual. Every month we went over the gigs and the smart browsing was the same as it we didn't. Made we pay for a month of service to disconnect and a pay to get out of a contract I didn't know I was in. I could go on and on... find another way to get internet...do not choose Hughes

To my family and friends do not get Hughes.net Internet my internet is very slow. With 2 weeks it was very slow. I would call in and all they would do is pacifi me tell I was stuck in contract. It cost me to get out now. They said I was useing all my data up. Even when I had data is was very slow. They said everything was good on their end. Test after test many times I called in. Staying on the phone for hours. I have screen shots as how long I'm on the phone with them. I did everything they told me even buying new routers. Then they say it's my lap top. Well funny how I can take that same lap top to another place and it works fast on another provider. They told me the goverment uses Hughes.net that's why I got it. I was mess lead. I had to pay to get out. Please do not use them or you will have to deal with the slow internet and calling and staying on the phone for hours and then never fixing it. It was worth me paying the 280.00 to get out of it. my hot spot off my phone ran 100 times faster then Hughes.net. I can go in and in with this. Shop around please. Read the thousands of reviews about Hughes.net You will not like it. Thank you.


Horrible Service

We chose Hughesnet because it was the only Internet available. There were a few other Internet providers but they all said that they go through Hughesnet. We only had 3 to 5 days of high speed Internet. After calling and complaining, they offered to double our service (went from 5 to 10gb) . However the extra gb was available only during the hours of 2am to 8am. I sent a email complaining. All I said in the complaint was before we moved, our Internet service cost $29 a month for unlimited high speed Internet and I was very disappointed with our service. That if they offered a decent service that they would have more customers. I received a reply saying basically nothing more than my email was nasty. I did not curse or get nasty in any way! We chose to go without service all together. The only other option we have at this time is at&t for $100. Because we can't afford that at this time, we have a smartphone and take our computer to town and use wifi from friends/relatives who have unlimited high speed. Summary:We chose to go without Internet rather than use Hughesnet.

This company is a BIG rip off. I have had awful service and over inflated prices. The reliability is terrible, min data allowance & way too high prices. The cancellation fees are high & each time I went to cancel they dropped my bill by $30.00 for a few months then it jumped back up to $71.59 per month JUST for Internet... Internet service that is simple horrible! Do yourself a favor pick Any other company!!! Wish I could give -5 star rating!

This is the worst internet I have seen since dial up in the 90s. I bought a new house and because of the outstanding marketing done by the company I bought in on trying them once my cable company told me I was to far off the road for them to give me good service. WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS!!!! I have called and complained once or twice every month and last night they tried for the last time to upgrade me to the "Fastest Package" they offer as a trial. Guess what? No change whatsoever.

This is ridiculous internet and the Company should be barred from sales in the U.S.

I will post this on as many sites as possible in order to save others from the headache.

Please do not use this service you will only be wasting time and money. I live in an area where there is minimal options for Internet service providers and was told Hughesnet would be a great option. I had nothing but bad luck with this service from the time it was installed. When it did work it only lasted for about 4 days. My roommate and I tried to keep our usage minimal but for the ridiculous price it was not worth it. The worst part came when I was ready to cancel my service. Even after I explained to them that I was moving to an apartment and would not be allowed to have a huge satellite dish there they tried telling me I'd have to pay $400.00 for an early termination. To me this is ridiculous because of my circumstances and also because the service is horrible. I told the man I would not be paying that fee and wanted to talk to a manager and of course he replied that she was busy but that he could cut the cost in half and gave me a price that I would be charged. However when I went to check my account about a week later I noticed they did not cut it in half and did not match what the man had told me I would be charged. I call back and am transferred over to a "manager" who is very rude to me and argues with me over the price because the previous person had quoted me the wrong price. Eventually after I refuse to pay what they are telling me they knock off more money. I wanted to ask questions regarding picking equipment up and he hangs up on me. I call today to confirm they've received my equipment, which of course they will charge you $300.00 if you don't return in time, and am told they do not see it as being received even though UPS says it was delivered on the 5th. The support person takes this tracking number and magically finds that my equipment has been delivered. I'm told my card is still on file but that they cannot access it since my account is terminated. Not sure I even believe this so I'll be keeping an eye on my bank account. So as you can see from my experience and from the others on here...they are no good and you should stay away from them. Please, save yourself the frustration.


Worst Internet Ever!!!!

My husband and I tried Hughesnet and we were never able to watch Netflix and all our plan was used up within the first day it started with no one at home using internet. This service is a scam, I wish we had researched this company a little more before choosing them. They are now charging us a 700 dollar cancellation fee for a service that was never provided. I wish there was some way we could sue to get our money back. Plus their installer damaged our roof installing their equipment. This company should be put out of service.

Hughes Net does not have their own technicians to install dish. Their customer service is non-existent, they transfer you to private techs without telling you what they are doing. Customer service personnel hard to understand. Dish cannot be near trees,get any snow - cannot get signal most of the time. Cannot cancel without paying $600. Hughes Net should be investigated. Service slow - can't play simple short video without buffering.


1.1 5.0 418 418 Was with Hughesnet for a total of 5 years. First 2 years by contract. Last 3, month to month. When I cancelled the service to go to Starlink, they were unwilling to prorate the Hughesnet Gen4 Satellite Internet
