DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THIS COMPANY

Jun 23, 2015 by Lauren

Hello,

I just had hughesnet installed in my home 2 days ago and am highly unsatisfied. We were told we were supposed to receive 10 mbps and are only receiving 1.5 - 2 max. We were also told we would have high speed Internet playing games and videos which is why I took the package they offered. We have used 5% in less than 2 days barely doing anything. When the tech left he said we had 100% signal and everything was fine. However we had to reconfigure EVERYTHING! It took HOURS. We can't use any of our on demand with DirectTv or Netflix. Also when I ordered the package via telephone, I told the rep I DID NOT WANT the extra equipment protection but still charged me. I had to log in and change it myself. I'm VERY unhappy and will not put up with service like this. We were lied to and I am highly considering dropping service after 3 days!

I sent this to them, live chat person told me they would call last night. Still have yet to call me....

Hughesnet

Kip Kip mlHughesnet is one of the worst internet services we have ever had, WORSE than dial-up. Customer Sve? There is none unless you want to hang on for hours to finally get to a human. Then you cannot understand what they are saying. For two years we have had nothing but problems, each time we call, we get the same routine, pull the plug, check the wires etc. Ask for technician to come out, YOU have to pay for it!

Their latest explanation for slow service to NO service is \'you are only paying for 10 gbts! You used them up. Now we will give you a \'free token\'.

There isn\'t time to explain all the problems with Hughesnet here.

If you have any other option do NOT waste your money on this company.

They are selling something they are not providing.

I don\'t know how they get away with it.

If you have high blood pressure you definitely do not want this company.

This morning I spent 3hrs trying to get customer sve which was unintelligible when I finally got to a human being.

Someone should be looking into this company.

Btw, I give them 0 stars, just had to check 1 to be able to do this.

Hughesnet is a nightmare!

Jun 22, 2015 by Doreen Federoff

The service provided by Hughesnet is so bad and so far down on the rating scale that it is not even ratable. The only reason there is a star on the rating from me is because I was forced to put it there so I could post this to WARN everyone about Hughesnet and their lack of ability to want to provide any kind reliable internet access. It has only been 3 weeks since I made a most horrible mistake and signed with Hughesnet and I have had nothing but problems ever since just trying to access the internet. Absolutely nothing loads and then the page goes unresponsive and dies. Tried to get a printed copy of the terms and agreements about my service and they refused telling me to look it up on their website, but I can't even get online to do that. Customer service is a colossal joke. They could care less if you are having a problem with them and will have you do "troubleshoot" tasks, like checking to be sure your wires are connected, over and over and over again and then tell you everything looks fine on their end and that there is nothing they can do to help since it supposedly shows up as working on their end, and you still can not access the internet. Whatever you do, please do yourself a favor and DO NOT get Hughesnet. You will regret it. I am puzzled as to how they are still in business.

HughesNet Epic Fail

HughesNet is so slow it's not worth paying for. I've contacted their service department numerous times, even had a tech at my house, but it rarely goes faster than 2mbps. It takes forever just to load any website, don't even think about trying to open more than one. I went out and bought a hot spot. I pay more, but it actually works! Don't think you're going to get 10mbps, they advertise "up to" 10mbps.

HUGHESNET CUSTOMER SERVICE BELOW PAR

Ever since hughesnet has rolled out the new "improved" email portal, I have had nothing but problems accessing email. Customer service is of NO help and technical support has yet fix it or contact me.

Expensive, Slow, Poor Service

Jun 16, 2015 by Stacey

I called to complain about the slow service the other night and obviously no one cared. Basically I'm paying $70 per month for 5 gigs of data each month. Customer Service said I had 50 gigs available from 2am to 8am. Really? How do you say that with a straight face and not laugh? I've dumped Hughes Net, and wouldn't recommend it.

AVOID Hughes

Jun 14, 2015 by Tom

Purchased internet service with DishTV as a bundle. I did not know I was getting Hughes service.

Was paying $89/mnth for only 30GB capacity. Went through 30GB in about four days. Once this happened the internet connection was near useless (about 50Kb/sec when it worked at all). Plus I had to power-cycle the modem every day to reestablish the horrible connection. Explained this to the Dish people and they understood completely and allowed me to terminate the Hughes internet portion.

People usually only select satellite service if it's their only choice for connectivity. I was lucky and found another company using line of sight connection vs. satellite. Will never try Hughes again. Throwing money in the trash.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & HIGH PRICES FOR VERY LITTLE IN RETURN

Jun 11, 2015 by Sydney Laudero

My husband and I decided to bundle internet with our DirecTV package. HughesNet was the internet provider they had available for our area. We ended up getting the 55 GBs for $39.99 deal. The service was pretty decent, however a friend told us that he got 250 GBs of data with Vyve for only $49.99 a month. I decided to do some research and turns out that HughesNet's 55 GBs plan is only $39.99 for the first three months and then it goes up. I also discovered that HughesNet had terrible reviews (something I should have looked at BEFORE I ever signed up with them.) My husband and I decided that paying $60 (price + tax & fees) a month for 250 GBs of data was way better than paying $50 (price + tax & fees) a month for only a meager 55 GBs, so we decided to cancel our HughesNet service. It took me three attempts to cancel. The first time I couldn't even understand the person. The second time the lady was extremely rude. She demanded to know why I was canceling. I told her that it was just not worth the price and she commented, "Why did you even get the service to begin with?" She kept trying to offer me deals so that I would stay and I just kept saying no and I asked her to please just cancel my service. She would not take no for an answer and kept hounding. I finally said that I was cutting my losses and she hung up on me. Again she was extremely rude and very unprofessional. I finally called back a third time. After being on hold for almost 45 minutes, I finally talked to a representative that spoke passable English. He also tried to offer me deals to stay but at least he wasn't extremely rude about it. All in all the internet service wasn't terrible but the prices and the customer service was.
MORAL OF THIS REVIEW: DO NOT GET THIS INTERNET SERVICE!!!!! LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE AND MAKE SURE TO READ THE REVIEWS 1ST!!!!!!!!!

i had second highest plan.
Yesterday I called because I just paid my bill and NO service. Was told I used all my data!!! I use my iPad to read books, check bank balance . . No streaming, movies . . I filed complaint with FCC.
THEY SAID . . MAYBE YOU HAVE NEIGHBOR STEALING YOUR DATA!!
These guys are thieves and know they are only WIFI internet service here. Save hour money . . A joke and total ripoff

Absolutely Horrid

If I could give this a negative rating I would. Even with their best plan we cannot have more than one device going at once. We cannot watch Netflix and with the data cap we only make it halfway through the month before running out of data. Their customer service is a joke. Look into ALL other options before using their service.

1.1 5.0 418 418 Was with Hughesnet for a total of 5 years. First 2 years by contract. Last 3, month to month. When I cancelled the service to go to Starlink, they were unwilling to prorate the Hughesnet Gen4 Satellite Internet
