ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. What Happened to Exede?

I got Exede three years ago before I went to North Dakota. Service was fine....I would recommend to any perspective internet user.
Last year.....fall of 2015....I returned back to Texas and got Exede internet. What happened?
One provider said they have grown so much they only "sub" only a small % to outside subs. I don't know. But now they are slow. So often the internet has been blank, disconnected, or what have you. You guess....I don't know.
And for $85.00 a month, one get the slow speed after one has used their allotted high speed internet time. For me, that is just a few days into the new monthly cycle. I don't watch movies, I don't download.....I don't do much.

In summary, slow service & service that is often not there......something not experienced before I went up to North Dakota for a couple of years.

What happened? Over capacity? Not wanting to upgrade their system? New owners looking at the bottom line ($$$$), and not customer service?

This is the worst internet service I have ever used and I would never ever recommend this service to anyone! I called and complained several times during the two months that I had the service about the slow internet speed and how you had to wait until the internet was available. It was slower than dial up. After making a decision to cancel my service, I was then told I was on a two year contract and would have to pay the monthly fee in order to cancel all at a cost of over $300.00. Once again, I was extremely disappointed in this service, and I would highly recommend anyone who is considering using this service to run as fast as they can to another provider!!


Worst company ever

At the time we got excede it was the only provider in our area. The service is totally unreliable and goes out all the time. We got a smart tv and it doesn\'t provide enough bandwidth to ever watch it. I\'ve been hung up on and treated really poorly by customer service, who were NEVER helpful in any way, after waiting up to 20 minutes to even talk to anyone. When we called to cancel, they didn\'t tell us it would be immediate, and we lost a full month that we had already paid for. They told us it was unrefundable and irreversible. Save your money and do not deal with this horrible company .

Worked for a while. Chatted with Margaret Beth c. She said she saw nothing wrong except congestion. She said it would be better when they launch new satellite. IN ABOUT A YEAR !!!!!!!

I can't wait a year. Wtf is wrong with wildblue? I'm one of their oldest customers and she said I got to put up with it for a year???? I'm changing. Anything has got to be better than this. So I need new system. Hughes??
Or if you hear of any other satellite internet providers let me know.


Terrible customer service

I signed up for exede as part of a bundle, and was told that if I cancelled before it was installed, my $99 would be refunded. I canceled prior to installation and was told the money would be refunded in 7 - 10 business days. It's been over a month and no refund. Every time I call, I get a different excuse, ranging from "that's not the policy," to wait another 7 10 business days." When I call now, they just keep me on hold. It appears I am going to have to take legal action to get them to honor their word.

Very slow and always buffering. I only go on youtube, and it gets very frustrating waiting to watch anything. I would rate EXEDE a negative star, but it wasn\'t an option.


Poor excuse for internet

If you loved dial-up, then you will love exede. I could take naps waiting for pages to load. You are given a small amount of data space to use and I use mine up in 10 days and have snail pace the rest of the month. Even the "high speed" is pathetic. Also if there is even a small cloud in the sky, you can bet you will lose service until it goes away. If I could prevent just one person from making the same mistake I did, then this post is worth it.

It became earlier every month that we ran out of data. Their people are impossible to reach by phone, & that's the only way to cancel service. I tried to use email and "online chat" - they don't recognize those for service.

We did get internet, just not much for the money.

This is the worst company! Poor customer service - took 3 weeks to schedule an install date. Date was today with a window between 8 and noon and at 2pm these idiots call to say they have to reschedule because they ran out of modems are you kidding me. Never will I do business with these people.

Sad you have to give a star rating to leave a comment cause this company doesn\'t deserve 1/100th. of a star!

How these people are in business is beyond me! Didn\'t ever give 10Mbps at all!

After call after call and complaint after complaint and finally going off on them they said we can let you out of your contract but can\'t wave the $345 contract fee. I said oh well, take me to court over it! You are voiding my contract not me, I pay you every month for a service you are not giving me!

They said they will shut my internet off and want me to send their equipment back, I said I can\'t cause there was never any boxes left that the equipment came in and I am not getting on the roof to take their equipment down so they better send someone to get their crap! They are sending me a box and return postage for me to take their crap down and return within 30 days... HA! Good luck with that Exede, see you in court!
