ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. Sales rep. said it was a no contract, but when I called about the bill I found out I was In a 2 year contract. Also sales said it was 39.99 and when I got my bill it was 70.00? unbelievable?


Very Bad Service

My first few months were great. Then suddenly the time was being used faster. I complained and took the fault. I don't play game's, but the wife does. At first we used 10G. in a month. I try to watch YT's during free time at night so not to use up my data. Soon that didn't help and the system would go off line for over an hour for what they say was up grades. Excede is good for making excuses. I have been slowed down as much as 0.019 and all they can tell me is congestion in the system. My number's have jumped all over the place every month now and the answer is most of the time the same. A few times it would be weather related as they would tell me. I would have clear skies, and no clouds, and still they would tell me weather. I increased to 15G. a month because of the wife complaining. Even that has taken a hit. They have breached their end of the 2 year contract for the 2 years. Super High Speed? Where is it? I have been overly patent with these people, but I have my limit's. I would not give them any star but it's required.


Bad company

I logged into my Exede Account to see my usage at around 13.4GB. Three days of usage I received an email stating that my usage is close to 68% used up. With 25 days to go. This is brand new service I just had installed 5 months ago in a bundle pack with direct tv. The only person in is my wife and I. We check emails and on the browser. I was sold on watching the on demand from direct tv and a home security system which also run on the inter net. Now I can use any of this. Very dissappointed. I am lock into a contract for 24 months.


Data Bleed with Exede

Great connection speed but a big problem with data measurement. I use SurplusMeter to monitor my internet usage. I just switched to Exede from Dish. With Dish, SurplusMeter always recorded more usage than the Dish counter. This is because SurplusMeter does not distinguish between locate internet usage (i.e. printing) and online usage. With Exede, SurpusMeter is recording less usage than the Exede counter. The data bleed is about 100MB per day which makes my 10GB package effectively a 7GB package. Lots of discussion on the Exede user's blog but no solutions from Exede. I have been unplugging the Exede modem from my internet when I am not using it and it seems to have helped the problem. Stay away from Exede until the data usage issue is addressed

This service sucks every single week i am calling them. They told me that I used 12 gigs of date with in 2 days. This service sucks i would not recommend it to anyone. Customer service tech support rude and they basically told me that its not their fault.

Excede Internet never provided the service they promised. For 4 months I struggled to get a signal. I called them twice a week and every time I called they always told me that the lights were all green on their end. They made multiple visits to my house to try to find out what the problem was and at one point uninstalled their entire system and reinstalled it. I went through 4 different modems. At one point the technician told me its was because I was using apple products. Finally after 4 months I asked them to disconnected me and the only way they would waive the early termination fees is if I submitted my request through email to the company which I did. Although weeks have gone by I have not heard from them. However they debited out if my account $286 for the early termination fee.
What am I to do? They may as well have held a gun to my head and robbed me

Just received my third bill. All three have been different amounts even though I am supposed to be on a six month promotion. A couple weeks ago I received an email telling me I had to act now to receive a discount on the plan I have now on promotion. The email said it would begin at the end of my six month promotional period. NOT! Bill went up $40 immediately! BS! Service is horrible! Both connection service and customer service! We thought AT&T was bad... Ha! Jokes on us! Also they send my bills via email. I received my bill yesterday (SUNDAY) and paid it this morning (MONDAY) on their website and have received a late payment email tonight threatening to suspend my service! Go ahead! Pretty much doesn't work anyway. Slow if it works at all! DO NOT PURCHASE EXEDE! IT IS A DISASTER THAT WE ARE LOCKED INTO FOR TWO YEARS!!!!!!!!

I was recommended from the service by another satellite dish company. Buyer beware there is no trial. As soon as it's connected you're responsible for two years regardless if the Internet works or not these guys need to be reported to the Better Business Bureau. I was on hold for 37 minutes to try to clear things up but had to get back to work. I had to call another company to get through to customer service after being on hold for an hour that time nothing was resolved. The only thing that was resolved is that I have to pay to your cancellation fee
because the service did not work.


HORRIBLE

I have never had such horrible customer service!! In our 2nd month they stated that I had used all my data on 1 day... A day that my husband and I were out working in the yard!! I call about it and they stated it was between 3-6... The only one in the house was my Labrador !!! I have not taught her how to use the computer! So I let it slide, my bad. I called agIn and complained about the slowness and how on weekends it was almost impossible to be on and have any speed at all. ( I live in a recreation area) and when everyone comes up to their cabins... HORRIBLE. So when I ask for someone to come out they said it would cost 30.00, and I would have to call back because their was not any service openings in my area!! So I canceled my contract with them. Yes I will pay early term fee but better to bite the bullet than continue for another 2 years. Please do not use exceed!


Tech support is terrible lately

Since the changeover to the new email the tech support is terrible. I have one e-mail program working. Thunderbird will receive e-mail but not send it, server times out and various other messages. Called Tech support this AM and they confirmed my setup was correct and it was turned over to the gurus, HA-HA. They were supposed to call me back and as of 9 hours later nothing. I also told them their instructions for an IPhone did not work.
Same answer they will call you. I called last Mon about the the IPhone and am still waiting on a return call.

Prior to this e-mail fiasco all has been Ok, not great, but Ok for over 8 years. Now Tech support is clueless or worthless, your choice.


1.2 5.0 1231 1231 having seriouse speed issues, complained to company they schedualed a technician to come gave a 3 hour window for the tech to be there, waited the 3 hours then called and they said Exede broadband internet
