ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. The new ViaSat-2 satellite is scheduled to be put into service later this year (2016). SKU UPC Model

Worst Internet Ever!

The only reason I chose this company was because I bundled it with my satellite service. It's very slow, and most of the time I may as well not have it at all. It's not even fast enough to connect with my phone. Stay away from this company. Their customer service is terrible and their techs are unprepared to take care of the problem when they finally show up. So, that meant scheduling another appointment.

I have NEVER had so many problems with a service provider before. The only reason i got this service was because it was bundled with my cable, and i desperately needed it for school. I have used this service for almost a year, simply and ONLY because i did not want to break contract. I regret every month i wasted money on this. The service was not only insanely slow, but the data went in the blink of an eye, problematic systems and the list goes on. I called in to make a payment, and i had been splitting my payments to suit my pay period. I called and had a female operator who spoke CLEAR english (there\'s no way she should have done this to me) I authorized a payment of a certain amount, and clearly stated i did not want this card saved, there was already one on file. I never knew when the payments would actually go through and the funds be there. Well.. She charged me 65 dollars over the amount i authorized, AND kept my card on file which resulted in the account being over drafted and significant late charges taken. Which ended up causing me to have my electric shut off. I have a 5 year old son, and dont make much money. So that was AWFUL. when i called to complain, they acted as if it was all my fault and that they were not in the wrong. [...] so i said i did not want the service any longer. Next thing i know, im being billed AGAIN the following month! and again, they refused to do what was right. This company and its call center employees are ridiculous. I will NEVER use them again, or refer them in any manner except AWFUL. I do not understand how a company with so many bad reviews and problems can still be allowed to market their product. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE! so others do not get ripped off... I am upset with all the money i put into this company, only to be treated wrongly, and nothing to be done about their EMPLOYEE who DID NOT LISTEN TO ME! [...]


really Bad service slower than promise.

I can\'t use the Internet when it\'s raining and very slow than they promise on the website. Don\'t use this company if you don\'t want to pay the fee later on. I\'m really disappointed. Exede lie to the public! !! Fastest satellite? ? I can\'t even watch you tube!!


Horrible Experience

They need a negative star rating for this company! Service does not live up to promise. Their service would not provide the steady bandwidth to stream video even at good time of day. Forget any kind of decent bandwidth at night. They insisted on charging $345 for disconnect on top of full 1st month(which by the way is $64, not $55 for lowest plan) even though service does not perform as advertised.

I wish there were negative stars i could give this company! I was disapointed from the start; expensive installation and service agreement. Then the contractor that came to my house was very shady (thankfully i lived in a gated neighborhood) and charged extra (i had to write him an ADDITIONAL check on the spot) for using the necessary equipment. Apparently the 'included' instal equipment wouldnt work on my house.... Once that was done we were so excited to get things going, until we fould that even with the highest amount of data, we were going over every month! It's just two of us, how is that possible! Of course we could buy more at a rediculous rate... also, it was SO slow we couldnt even use our gaming console! We almost cancelled so many times, but there's the cancellation fee! So, of course my husband gets transferred with work and we end up having to cancel our service early anyway. I call the week before and am told i cant cancel ahead of time, so to call after we move. I made sure to ask her EXACTLY what equipment i would need to take with me so to return it when i did cancel. Of course she didnt mention the little thing on the satelite outside! When i called to cancel a few weeks later, of course no one told me about that little piece AGAIN. So here i am 2 months later seeing a $165 charge to my account (i already paid the $260 cancelation fee) for that little piece. When i call and complain that twice it was NOT mentioned to me, i am told to re-read my contract!!!! Are you flipping kidding me! I guess i was insane to think that the customer service people knew what Exede wanted returned and were telling me correct information!!! The fact that I'm not qualified to install my own satelite but I'm qualified to 'uninstall' in order to return it makes me irate! Please spare yourself hours of anger and frustration and overtime to pay for all the fees and bad service!


WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

Stay away from this company. One of the months my GB allowance maxed out within a day. They added 6 1GB charges to my account, I never went on to get more. I would usually deal with the slow connection until the next month. I am the only one who has access to the account and I know for sure I didn't purchase this. I called "customer service" was on hold for an hour they said that I purchased it. When I asked them what time these purchases were made they couldn't tell me. I had to call my credit card company and report fraudulent charges. Luckily I knew someone that came by with a 29ft ladder to get the equipment off the roof, if not it would have cost $125 through excede. I hope from here on out that i never have to deal with them again.

Two weeks and data is all gone. Slows computers down to a crawl. Poor connections fail causing pages to reload using more data. Comcast or anorher cable company could make a fortune if they would run a cable out in the country. My 12mps service max speed ever was 4.8mps. There has to be another way. My biggest complaint is the speed. If it was faster pages would load faster and my wife wouldn't keep clicking on the stupid enter button over and over because a page didn't load. I think it is there design so people buy more data. I would cancel in a second if I had another option.


NEVER Use this Company

I cannot give this company even one star. This is the sorriest excuse for an internet provider I have ever dealt with or ever hope to deal with again. Mediocre service until August, when WildBlue/Exede took over, and then the service was even slower. 45 minute waits, probably due to high frequency complaints, and customer service drones reading off scripts. I asked to speak with a supervisor and I got a militant businesswoman with no sense of sympathy. We signed a contract because we couldn't get the service otherwise. But having to pay $15 per month for the remaining 8 months after multiple complaints? Having to personally get on the roof to remove the satellite part or be charged $125? We will be calling the Better Business Bureau and continuing to call until we get someone with some common sense who will at least work with us. I can only hope such person exists within the spiked gates of this "company"...
DO NOT EVER USE EXEDE. Steal internet from somewhere before you even consider using Exede.


Corp designed evil customer service

I feel sorry for anyone that works in customer service for this company. They are nice polite people who need a job, I get that. If you have any problems forget about ever getting satisfaction. They entered my order wrong, they admitted it but say it won't be corrected. Try to cancel and it will cost you $15/month for 2 years. Try to escalate it and they say to call corp. Call corp and they route you back to the same people that caused the problem and won't fix it. It is hard to believe that companies like this can still exist. They essentially have a monopoly if you are rural.

I sincerely wish I hadn't gotten involved with this company. I should've known when I paid upfront for the service that I wasn't going to be happy. My complaints. Very little data for a high price. I have a family of young adults who love the internet, so each month in less than a week we have gone through the data. There is no grace period to break their 2 year contact. Too top it off, the modem has broken already. I would say this service is only good for those who are rarely on the net.
