ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. Hi,

I canceled my Exede Internet service today, after 1+ years with Wild Blue, and 4+ years with Exede. I need to return my modem and power cord. No problem. But, if I don't climb up on my roof and get the receiver box off the dish they will charge me $150. Or they will charge me $95 to send someone out to take it down. Really? Sounds like a lawsuit waiting when someone falls off the roof to retrieve a piece of equipment that I am pretty sure is either obsolete or weathered to the point it can't be reused.

This interenet does not even deserve one star.
Worst Internet EVER!! Do not waste your money. I recently moved and inquired with Direct TV on a bundled internet package. They said they could bundle me with a satellite provider. They did not tell me who and I did not ask. I did however directly ask what speed I would be getting. They told me I would be getting at least 25MBPS download which was faster than any other internet I had checked with in the area so I agreed on this bundled package. It took two weeks before someone finally came out to install my internet. Before the installer left I ran a speed test and only came up with 4.05MBPS. When I asked the installer about this he told me it was not his department and that "you cant trust those speed tests". After only one day I could hardly do anything online. It was totally useless and has been for this whole 30 days. When I called and inquired they said I had used up all my primary data after only one day. How is this possible?? I have no Kids, I dont play any games and there are only two of us here that work outside the household every day. I have now had the internet for a total of 30 days and It has been totally useless. Cant' watch facebook videos, cant watch netfilx or youtube. About the only thing I can do is go online on my computer for email and that is slower than my moms dial up internet back in the 90s was. I called and asked what I needed to do to get out of this waste of money. They told me I would have to pay $380.00 to get rid of it. I don't understand how when I was told I would be getting 25MBPS and nothing was even brought up about data usage at the time I signed up that they can expect me to pay to get rid of it. As far as I am concerned the service I was told I would be provided was not ever even close to be met or satisfactory so why should I have to pay for something I did not receive? I have ran speed tests over the last 30 days and screen shot each one. I have never seen over 3MBPS and most of the time its around .35 or .25 not even 1.0MPBS. DO NOT DO IT! GARBAGE.....

It To A Friend?: No but I would recommend to an enemy 

I had to cancel my service due to a move. When I signed up five months ago I was told there was no contract or cancellation fees. Now when I cancel I'm told I was under contract and have to pay the cancellation fee.

I would recommend this company to my worst enemy. Very slow speeds, too expensive. It's terrible that people in rural communities are forced into business with shady companies like this.

We have had Exede for 6 yrs. We were rural and had to have sat internet. It's slow, you don't get enough GB for the money, and service Stinks!! We have moved, now having service disconnected has turned into a $ 95.00 to 150.00 headache! They want me to climb up on my 2 story roof to get their 6yr old receiver! I'm 60, and on disablity!! Well then I can pay $95.00 to have a tech come remove, or pay $150.00! For a outdated peice of equipment!! Bad bussiness!!

My review rating doesn't go low enough. Exede is a BIG JOKE, it is off line more than on and I can't wait for the opportunity to dump this BIG JOKE!!! I am not ever going to recommend this ridiculous service to anybody!!!!

When i agreed tp get this service we we're told it could be used with several devices. So i agreed . The day it was turned on .it would freeze even with one device on it .so the complaints started from day one .every week we would call they would tell us to cut off it off then back on . Ha ha thats it nothing more . Useless!!! Then trying to charge me 350 bucks!! Time to lawyerup

I absolutely hate this Internet company, and I hate Even more the fact that because I live in a rural area I have no choice but to deal with them. I have had nothing but bad experiences every since I signed up with them, first the prices were too high. Then I moved and they told me in order to transfer services to my new address I have to sign a whole new contact! And if I didn't then I would have to pay $300 to get out of my current contact! So I said fine then just let me continue with the same plan I already had. They then had the nerve to tell me I'm sorry ma'am we don't offer that plan in you're area, I literally moved down the street!! So then they offered me another plan that was more money but less Internet. Makes no sense!! So now I'm dealing with the fact that they decided to take $323 out of my Account without permission for un returned equipment that their technician that they are contracted through who did not return the equipment like he said he would. Why an I being held responsible for some equipment that I don't even have?? So then I demanded a refund! And I still have yet to receive anything! They keep coming up with Every excuse in the book when I ask why is it taking so long. They are rude and disrespectful. Usually I don't write bad reviews but this company right here is HORRIBLE! and people need to know what they are getting themselves into. They don't use their own advertisement. They go through little contract companies, that's how I got swindled into signing up with them. By seeing a sign on a light pole that said HIGH SPEED INTERNET. Be careful who you sign up with.

Rural internet options are slim. Went with Exede because of this. Upload 3 pictures to Facebook on the 3rd day of the cycle and 70% of data is used for the month. Data limits, overpriced, credit card requirement, no statements are some of the reasons for cancelling. Went with cheaper, local wireless option with NO data limits. If you disconnect, cancel BEFORE you pay your next billing cycle. They will NOT refund any balance. CROOKS! Customer Service states page 4 of the contract...if you ever received one. Please exhaust ALL options before using these crooks. Data limits? Really??

Worst customer service ever... sign up & they got you. They are a very dishonest company. "High speed " internet is a joke. For $86 + a month I was able to use it for about 7 days & then it was so SLOW I could not use it. This is the worst company I have dealt with in my 69+ years.. DO NOT use EXEDE. Any other internet service is better. Thankfully we just completed our mandatory 2 years & have not had their service since Dec. Yes, we moved in Dec. but still had to pay thru May. You pay them in advance. HORRIBLE company to deal with. This is also the first negative review I have ever posted.. !

I called to tell them I wanted to discount at the end of contract which is in 4 daysCustomer Service failed to tell me that you could not call in advance to discount but on the day you want it disconnected. The receiver is on my roof and I was told I had to removed it to keep from being charged $150. I am 68 years old and not capable to do this. The first agent disconnected me. I called back and said I wanted to speak to a supervisor.We are playing who can out hold the call the longest. I have been on hold for 21 minutes. All she does is keep coming back to see if I am still there. This is the worse call center I have ever done business. All I can say is Buyer Beware. And giving it a one star is pushing it.
