ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. The new ViaSat-2 satellite is scheduled to be put into service later this year (2016). SKU UPC Model

Very unhappy!!!!

Sounded like a great deal at the time, but we were so unhappy with the internet service and with the customer service we opted to get out of the 2 year commitment and just pay the fees.
Our data was gone within days of turning over and we used it for light surfing...no streaming, no big downloads. But I would get emails every day telling me that I could add more data...just send more money!! Not happy...
When I signed up I was told that I could use bill pay through my bank (initiated by me), but was then told the only way to do that was for THEM to debit my account...I really don't like to do things that way. Not happy!!
Not long after we got it the bank account they were drawing from changed numbers. I tried to go to their web site to update the account information and could not get it to work, several attempts, several different ways, but no luck. In the meantime I'm getting emails saying my account is over due. I finally have to call...they won't take a check...the ONLY way they accept payment is for them to draw from your account or for you to give them a CC number over the phone. I don't really like that either. I had to do this whole thing 3 months in a row. NOT happy!!!
We finally had had enough and decided to cancel. I agreed to pay the fees to get out of the contract early...it was so worth it.they had me cut off in about minutes of calling! Remember that because I could never update my account with my new CC number they don't have a payment method.
3 months go by and I'm waiting for a final bill or an email or something. Nothing.
On Jan 1st I got a letter dated 12/23 that my account was past due and that if I didn't pay it within 7 days they would send the account to collection. I got on the phone on 1/5 and paid it over the phone and the payment posted to my bank account on 1/7.
I then received a letter dated 1/8 from a collection agency about the account. NOT HAPPY!!!
Just stay away from them, everything about the company is just bad, bad, bad!!!!!!!!
We went back to HughesNet. And I don't know if this is true or even possible, but the HughesNet installer said that Exede "shares" your data with others near you.

Worst Internet I am always being put on a Liberty Pass slow ass Internet because I have Zero usage left. I hardly ever use my internet and I'm always maxed out!!! WTH???

This was a costly mistake in my case. This company has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I scheduled a retrieval of the transceiver on top of my house and they never picked it up and are continuing to bill me for it. Their Internet interface is confusing and ridiculous.

Would give zero stars if possible. Slow speed, virtually impossible to stream without constant buffering; sometimes every second or two. Forget any online gaming! The guy that installed it was glowing about its abilities, but none of what he said was realized when using. The Wildblue people are rude and judgmental. Usually sound like they are reading from a script, the wrong one. Currently searching for other options as it only seems to get worse despite trying everything they and other claim to help speed. Avoid this company!

Two weeks ago I had service installed. Internet connection is extremely slow for what they charge per month.
Woke up this morning and didn't have any internet service. I Called exceed to find out why I didn't have service. The lady who answered the phone told me " they had sent a bill out Jan 12, 2016. They suspended my service for non payment " . (I couldn't believe they shut me off after only 2 weeks of Internet service)
I called back a 2nd time; to remind them that they had told me before installation "I could decide my billing date." They still refused to turn my service back on. The lady on other end of phone wouldn't say anything; after I asked her a question. She completely ignored me. I called back a 3rd time, asked to speak to a supervisor. They left me on hold for 20 min till I got tired of waiting and hung up. Exceed has very rude employees, service sucks, and expensive.


Service never connected, RUDE customer service

Hi - I created an account just to post this review. My experience with Excede's customer service has been the worst I've experienced in 30+ years. I signed up for satellite Internet service + Voice (phone) in December as our new house did not have cable or any other Internet as an option. The installation tech did not install the phone service as he did not have the correct adapter. He assured me it would arrive in the mail. After two weeks, I called and was informed it would arrive in the mail. It has been over a month and no phone service adapter has arrived. No problem, I think to myself, I will just call again. I contacted Exede's customer service branch for Voice support, this office is located in Las Vegas I was told. I spoke to CJ and later her supervisor, Antoinette. Both employees were extremely rude and unapologetic about the situation. The calltaker (CJ) demanded that I provide additional personal information in order to provide me with the Voice adapter I had never received but had now paid over a month's rate for. I tried to count how many times I was interrupted, talked over and berated by the calltaker, but I lost count. She was condescending, and continually came across as annoyed that I was bothering her with this problem. for 30 minutes she refused to send out an additional Voice adapter to me. I asked if she could cancel the service since it was never connected, and she threatened to charge me early cancellation fees. It took me 35 minutes of talking on the phone to get her to agree to send out a Voice (phone) adapter so that I could have service.

I will be cancelling my service as soon as my two year agreement is up, as I cannot afford to pay the fees for early cancellation. I would seriously, seriously consider another company for your Internet and phone needs.


Worst Internet Provider EVER

Worst internet provider we have ever had, and we have lived in many different houses in different areas. Speed is slow, comparable to dial up in the 90s. We can't even stream without gobbling up our data. Even our phone data plan is better. Plus, a little gust of wind and poof, gone is the satellite signal. We've had no internet on some days for up to 8 hours. Customer Service and Exede doesn't care. And to top it off, WE have to climb up on our roof to take the satellite dish down to send back to them. Or spend $95 to hire someone to do it. In addition to the $165 fee to terminate our worthless 2-year contract early. Exede/Viasat will be a company long forgotten about in 5 years. Adios.


Very Crappy Internet

Their equipment is crap. The installer didn't give us the option to use our own wireless router, we had to use theirs or it wouldn't work. You can be sitting right next to the router and the signal constantly goes in and out no matter what device you use or who its with. We end up using our cell phone plan data because it's faster and more reliable than Exede. Satellite internet, worst idea EVER. I'm sure when I move I'll get slammed with some $500 disconnect fee or something....

Data usage meter is faulty. I carefully monitored my usage by disconnecting al, devices, completing updates at work, no live videos, etc and exhausted my 15gb in 15 days. There is just no way this can be accurate. I never used my data this quick shower e I was with hughesnet or Comcast. Exceed is the worse provider ever. Do without before buying there lame over priced service.

I've had exede since June 2013 and upgraded to the "Freedom" plan about 8 months ago (basically unlimited data or 150 gb). I get fast downloads usually 17-19 down and 3-5 up. I watch HD netflix all the time and I'm on a fully automated house (use wemo, nest) and lots of connected devices. I've never come close to using all 150 gb with my plan. They have changed the plans now offered in my area and I hope that I don't get bumped to something different. I am looking forward to the new ViaSat 2 with download speeds of 25 mb so I can watch UHD. I live in the middle of nowhere and this is my only option so I'm happy with it.
