ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. The new ViaSat-2 satellite is scheduled to be put into service later this year (2016). SKU UPC Model

HORRIBLE! Didn't exceed limit for 4 months, then suddenly exceeded it for 3 months, then back to not for 2 months, now we exceeded it within 6 days of new cycle. Our usage has been the same all along. They "claim" it's for streaming???? Very slow speed especially from about 4 pm until 8 pm. Many times we have to wait several minutes for a webpage to load. This month our bill will probably be outrageous again and there's no way to get around it. Always blaming the customer. In this day and age, with all the technology available, it should be quicker and reasonably priced. Those of us stuck with it in rural areas have no way around. We will be hopefully moving soon & I'll be making sure that I have WAVE cable if available. Customer was always right and service was exceptional!


Exede, the Worst company ever

Moved from a large city to a rural area and was provided Exede by Directv. Was promised certain services from Exede, but never received them. Like everyone else, data was used the first month within a couple of weeks. Was promised the data would be restored by Exede, but instead they charged me for 5 extra GB's without my permission and then never informed me. Only saw it on my invoice. Tried to get it back, but kept being told by customer service for 4 months that it was going to be refunded. Last person said the customer service doesn't do what they say. They just tell you what you want to hear. In canceling, was charge exorbitant cancellation fees after not receiving anything from them for the whole months. Have never dealt with a company this bad that doesn't care at all about customers. Wish I had seen all the reviews first as I can see this is an unethical company. Will not go through Directv for a recommendation either. They should stay on top of the companies they contract with. I was forced to give one star, but I wouldn't give them anything if I had a choice.


Horrible Experience!!!

Exede was my only option for internet service as I lived in a rural area. The data ran out within two weeks of the month on the highest plan and then went to null. Internet was used for only a few hours a month because I am only at my house 1/3 of the month.

When you disconnect the service they make you get on the roof to return part of the satellite refusing to send someone out to remove it without charging $125.00! Even though they installed it to begin with!! If you don't send it back they charge $150.00. Horrible company with horrible customer service.

Do not use if you can at all avoid it. (and even maybe then do not use!)

My usage resets every month at 6/24. Yesterday, before I even got a notice my for my bill which is auto taken out of my bank account, my usage was at 70%. how can that be? NO ONE WAS HOME TO USE IT! I looked today to verify and it says I only have 20% left now. I don't know where my usage is coming from it blows my mind. I had a tech out saying my connection was bad, he installed a new dish and that dish was worse so they re installed my old dish. So if I have a bad signal why is my data being eaten alive? This company is a sham. Run as fast as you can

Service was severely misrepresented. Data was gone within 1 week and there is no way we used that much data in a week. Called to cancel service, they never cancelled it. Called again, same thing. Finally just closed my bank account. Received letter threatening collection. I called to request itemized statement, never got one. Called again, never received. After doing this three time I gave up and said forget it. Got letter from collection company, called them to get itemized statement, they refer me back to Excede. Called Excede but because I can't give them the last four digits of my payment method they will not give me any information. When I asked to speak with a manager I was told "No". I'm basically supposed to just pay the amount of money they are demanding without being able to verify what I am being charged for. Don't think so!!! Do yourself a favor and do not get tangled up with this company. It is a rip-off. They don't even deserve 1 star rating.

Sucks data at an alarming rate. Had Hughesnet gene for 3 years never used data as fast as with exede. 5 times in 3 years used up my data, 1st month with exede used it up in less than 20 days. I hate I made this switch. I now unplug modem every night and when going to be gone from home. Never had to do that or even worried about it with Hughesnet. Exede rips you off with data, don\'t get it

Something sneaky is going on here. It keeps getting worse. Impossible for me to have used the bandwidth they claim, but you have no way of disproving. Exede/WB has it's customers over a barrel. Most of us that live in rural areas have no other options but dial-up. My bandwidth has been disappearing into thin air. They tell you they'll look into it when you call customer service. Then they somehow blame you & your habits, computer..whatever. Bottom line, you are getting ripped off & they don't really say where the usage has gone nor do they have to. They could care less if you wake up & find your pc ate up 100mbs with everything turned off. They laugh all the way to the bank. Why can't they provide a daily track system for you to follow? A real one, not that stupid chart they have now? Out of necessity they have customers with no cable better options to turn to. Don't believe them. It's not you, it's them. Can't stream anything without suffering major repercussions. Bandwidth usage shoots up in less than a day after streaming a movie. Why is that? In this day & age they will eventually become obsolete.

This has been the worst internet provider experience I have EVER had! Not only did I have no choice in using this company as part of my Direct TV package, the customer service is horrible! Then when I went to disconnect the service as part of my move they would not let me schedule a date in advance, then after I waited until the end of the month to call back they tell me that I am responsible for climbing up on my roof to take a piece out of the dish that I have to return to them. Ridiculous and the service was HORRIBLE every month, slow slow slow!


Where has our data gone??

We have had Exede for a little over 2 years now. They are our ONLY option in our area if we want to still have Internet access after meeting our usage (others cut it off completely once usage met). Our first year we NEVER went over our data allowance. But since we moved immediately after the first year of service with Exede we have EXCEEDED our data allowance EVERY month and usually within the first 6-10 days! For instance, our cycle restarted On June 16th and today it shows we have used 6.5 or 65% of our 10 data!! NOTHING has changed except our location. They cannot tell us WHERE our data is going. We do NOT have our computers set up to update between midnight and 5am so that is not the issue. I just read another post where the subscriber said that watching HD movies allows for 3 movies a month before the allowance would be met. Does that mean HD channels...?? We have an HD television like a LOT of people do nowadays but it is the SAME TV we had the first year so I do NOT see how that could be the issue either??
