ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. SLOW SPEED

I have had this service for 10 days and have NEVER NEVER gotten down speed over 3.0 and up NEVER NEVER over 1.9. I feel I was out right lied to they had to know that "congestion" was an issue and the speeds they promised 13down and 3 up would never be available until 12 midnight, I'm sorry but my kids do not stay up that late to do their homework. So I'm out $349.10 just 10 days into this train wreck. They did say I could get outta my contract since I was mislead...but was not authorized to refund any of my money. What the hell?? And my neighbor whose on the same beam gets 8.0 down 2.7 up (peak time) three miles down the road, but they say there is nothing wrong with my system. So they have frauded me they knew there was problems and sold me a product they could not deliver


Great Service! Complicated to set up

The installer was good with a wrench but lousy at attachment of the modem to a router, let alone a set up as complicated as my house. I was going to cancel when a geek service I trusted called me back and agreed to come out. They ripped out all the wiring and started over, had the system up and running in about fifteen minutes. From then on, we've had continuous service, and with download speeds of 20Mbps and upload speeds of 4 Mbps. Outstanding! Compared to my old slow DSL service, this is a gift from god.

We have never had any problems tha you would not expect from satellite delivery. Ocassional weather related drop out, but otherwise running router test or reboot of modem fixes problem. For those folks who claim the meter is faulty, there is a few days delay in exede's report, but theirs matches my router's number.

Today I contacted the customer support area of Excede, I called because the internet has been a little faulty. As I rearranged my room yesterday, I found that the person who installed the box, did not change out the wires from my old internet service company. He used the old wires....that don't match really with he Excede box. So, I called and asked for someone to come out to change out the lines and put in the correct ones. I was told very rudely, that if someone came to install the "PROPER" wiring it would cost me $100.00 to come out.

I am extremely disappointed with Exede Internet Service. We do not get online very often, and we are past our limited downloads within two weeks, then can not use it for the next two weeks until our pay period passes again. We have made sure our phones and smaller devices are not using the service. We can increase our permitted download volume by increasing the monthly cost to nearly $150/month, but I am not willing to do that. I never know what to expect when I log on, but frequently am left frustrated. Do not feel like I am getting much bang for my buck with this service. Am anxious for my contract with Exude to expire.

We we're mislead from the beginning !!!we had to pay almost 400.00 to buy out of a contract! For services they couldn't provide!!! Never seen anything like this! I would not recommend this company to anyone!! They have no Grace period , so if it is not what you were looking for , TOO BAD!!!!

Been Fine

Cannot figure out the poor reviews either. We had previously been in town with Frontier, and this seems very comparable. Now we are out in the middle of nowhere and my husband can still play his on line poker and I can download books from Amazon, watch a few videos, and surf all we want. We set all our updates and downloads for 5 am and have never gone over our limit- we never have even used half of the 15G we are paying for. Some people just don't seem to know what they are doing- this is not like in town. We are lucky- used to have At and t from an antenna we put up for $400 and they charged for every minute you where on online. We are satisfied.


Most horrible experience ever

I bundled Exede internet service with my Directv service because I was made to believe it would be a better deal than doing it seperately. First off, I was expecting the service that they described to me over the phone. Instead I ended up paying much more than I would pay if I were buying dial up, which is about the same speed. Whenever it was set up, the technician left trash everywhere and instead of offering to place the dish onto something that could gain signal, he wanted to charge $50 just to put a metal pole in the ground. I had to refuse that and tell him to find some place on my porch post (the more affordable and logical idea) or to take it back with him. I then had to continue calling because by the middle of the month, they were saying we had used up all of our data. I found this hard to believe since we only used our cell phones to get on facebook every once in a while and most of the time we used the data allowance on our cell phone plan (only 7GB for two phones) and we still never ran over on our bill. I find it hard to believe I had used 20GB of data at home on my phone when most of the time I was using the measley 7GB on my phone. Then just this month our bill was paid and 3 days later we cannot access our internet. I call and they say it's because we were gaming. We have all of our gaming devices unhooked because 20GB is not enough to access facebook through these people let alone game. When I explained this I was told they had equipment to provide them with the information as accurately as possible, making my feel like I was being called a liar. I'm 6 months pregnant and trying to save for my child's arrival so I cannot afford to pay $315 straight out to cancel our service through them, so I'm now having to pay what is called the vacation plan to basically put my account on hold until I can get the money saved up to pay to cancel it. Remind you, this plan is $20 a month and you cannot access the Internet on this plan. So I'm basically giving them $20 to not be able to access the Internet. I'm only giving one star because that's the lowest allowed. I think there are many flaws in this company and they are very rude and customers are not their priority. Would not recommend my worst enemy to this company. Please choose otherwise and go with anyone else!!!

Exede is the worse internet service we have had. It's not fast and ever month they say we go over are Bandwidth and all we do on it is check emails and look at a few sites because were not able to do any thing else.

We had a terrible experience with this company, we hire them in October to be our internet service. They shut our internet off every month, in December four days after we paid our bill, stating the we exceeded our service agreement, and we were not even in the State those 4 days. My husband and I work all day, we do not stream or download. I am 53 and my husband is 63. About the only thing we use our internet for is to check email and face book. Our service agreement was for 20 GB. Every time I would call I was told that their "meter" was broken. In February I called customer service and was put on hold for over 2 hours, this was a joke. I told them they had broken their part of the contract and to please come pick up their equipment. They then turned around and charged my account $308.00- it has been nothing but a nightmare experience. Please do not waste your time, money and energy with this company. The site made me give one star to move forward.
