ViaSat Exede broadband internet Exede is a satellite internet service provided by parent company ViaSat. The service was launched in 2012 when the ViaSat-1 satellite was put into service. Before Exede, ViaSat offered WildBlue on an older Telesat Anik F2 satellite. In general Exede's real world performance is over 10x faster than WildBlue's. The new ViaSat-2 satellite is scheduled to be put into service later this year (2016). SKU UPC Model

Worst internet. We are paying $65/month for speeds of 12 mbps and the second we reach the GB limit they throttle it to around 0.53 mbps. Worst internet ever.


Not Dependable

There is a lot of down time during the "Free Zone" sometimes a re set works, and most times it doesn't. Most times the outage lasts 15 minutes to a half hour.When it is working, the speed is decent. The GiG limit per month is horrible. The competition will eventually get my business with unlimited streaming. I'm stuck with 11 more months on my contract, but I'll dump this service as soon as the contract is up. I had Dish Network Satellite prior. Their internet service was so bad they let me out of the 2 yr. contract. Customer service is always polite but they deny it's them during the outages. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY.


Awful Service

This service is unreliable. Customer service is terrible. Have had monthly service calls since the day my service was installed and issue is still not resolved. Tech support hung up on me. Yes, really. Multiple occasions where service rep shows up outside of scheduled time slot or does not show up at all. Internet is out more than its in service.

I have to call every other week to have my internet re-connected. When I asked to cancel the service since it obviously doesn't work properly, I was told I will be charged $300 cancelation fee- sounds more like extortion to me!

I am giving this service one star because zero stars isn't an option. We just switched to AT&T U-Verse yesterday because it FINALLY became available in our area. After 2.5 awful years of being stuck with WildBlue Exede (because it was the only thing available to us at the time), I cancelled our account as soon as the U-Verse was installed and all I can say is GOOD RIDDANCE! With Exede, our internet was down more than it was working. Customer service is awful, just about every person I ever talked to was extremely rude. No one could ever give us a clear answer on why our internet was down so much. I would not recommend this service to ANYONE, and I am so glad we can finally wash our hands of it and move on!

Worst thing ever. This is only good if you have zero options. The cap is low latency is high making gaming or VoIP unusable. Not true broadband and way over priced. Only good for someone that has never used internet and only sends emails. Would give half star if I could just because it's better than nothing.


Poor service

First of all it slow as molasses. I have grand children that use internet for school and this system is too slow to let their programs work properly. the internet program company researched this and found it is just plain too slow. I used to have broadband thru Verizon which worked quite well. It was slow just like exceed is bot it was always there, rain or snow or any bad weather it was always there. unfortunately Verizon discontinued it because it was not making them enough money. I am not a Verizon fan either. One of the biggest complaints is reception. As soon as it gets cloudy with a little moisture in the air you get no reception. If it starts snowing ever so light you are cut off. It isn't for just a little while, It stays off for hours and hours In the summer time if you a Rainey day, does not have to heavy either, you are cut off, no reception. When you call them the excuse is satellite signal cannot penetrate heavy cloud cover. This is hogwash and I tell so. I have satellite tv and there has never been an issue in the winter time even in the worst snowstorm. Once in while in the summertime during real high thunderstorms you lose signal for a short time. When I present this information to them they don't seem to have an answer and the worst part is they just don't seem to give a dam either. I used to be able to track bad weather in the summer time with broadband which is a must for safety during tornado season. This is absolutely impossible with Excede. I would not recommend this company to anyone. It is time they clean up their act and provide better service. When this contract is up I am gone. Their advertising is very misleading

This should be a negative 5 state review but it i sits a 1-5 star rating. At first speeds were good and we were pleased. As time has gone by and they have more customers the speeds are extremely slow. And when you ca the excuse is that the trunk is over 90% full and so speeds are slow. Well maybe I should slow down payment to the 1/8 of amount expected like I amgetting speeds slower than 1/8 of promised/ advertised. They wi disconnect the service(no great loss) and sue. Now that is a problem how can they sue you for services you are not receiving so therefore are not paying for? A class action needs taken against this company.

I used them for three moths and never had a month where there was not a problem. Called customer service and was never able to resolve any issue weather it was for billing or tech. support. Returned my equipment and was still charged $300. DO NOT USE THEMFOR ANY REASON YOU WILL BE SCREWED!!!!


TERRIBLE

We had a Direct TV upgrade and Excede was recommended. We have super slow internet where we're at, so we were interested. Installation was scheduled 9-noon. Installer called my husband and asked if he could come at 1:00. He then SHOWED UP AT 2:45 saying that he would have to leave before 5:00 to go to the bank 15 minutes away! My husband came home and I had to leave. I came home that night, excited to use it and my husband said it didn't work and that the installer told him that I had to call Direct TV to get a WIFI Deca. I called Direct TV and they never heard of that! I called Excede and they never heard of it either!!! We had a very good router. Excede then told me that we had to pay for the termination fee! They took $354 out of our account twice now. We sent the equipment back but they never credited us our fee for that - $157! I just hung up and was told they WILL NOT waive the termination fee. I contacted my bank and am stopping payment to them. I am beyond annoyed and don't recommend them to anybody!!! I've spoken to 1 nice person out of probably 8 that work there but was misled in so many ways! DON'T USE THEM! I DON'T EVEN GIVE THEM 1 STAR!!!!
