Ordered their internet....failed to tell me i needed a router found out @install$40. Failed to tell me there was a limit of use of inernet. Sined contract at time of install electronically w/o givi g me copy and last they only hard wire to one device. It is not wifi. Could not stream movies. On scale of 1 to 10. . I'd give then a one


No faster than years ago.

I had hughesnet years ago and gen 4 doesn't seem to be any faster. As a matter of fact, for me, 4G LTE is much faster.

I cannot recommend this company. It was very difficult for me to get through their phone system. I have spent over an hour on hold. Their representative promised to return my call. Two day later I called to cancel their service. Just to cancel service took 20 minutes on the phone.


Worst Choice Ever

After two days of the initial Installation i have used 6 Gigs of my data plan. On my cell phone plan with streaming movies, music and videos for thirty days i don\'t even reach 3.5 gigs of data. How is this possible? I spoke to customer service this morning and they told me i used 1 gig between 8am and 9am. There was no one even awake at that time so how can i use data. No devices were even on. I am told from customer service after my 12 gigs of data i might get 1Mps when they throttle me down. I think snails can move faster than that. I believe the FCC should get more involved in there practices.

You know this is the worst internet company ever, Hughes is slow, bad latency i know because my friend has it and he cant play online, but we have Exede and its the fastest satellite internet ever, our most download speed was 19mb/s and almost 20mb/s and most upload speed was 4mb/s, my latency at lowest was 519ms and on my multiplayer list i had 3 ping bars but i only get 2 and never drop from there.

Installed on 2 properties. What a scam. They tell you 60 gig but you only get 15 gig. The rest of the gigs are for vampires 2am-6 Unreal. Then they trick you & give you free gigs. So you never see how slow it is. Until your 30 day trial period is over. Now it's very slow & your locked in a 2 year contract. Can't anybody shut them down?
Thankfully we cancelled the 2nd property in time.
I wish k would have read this site before.


WORST CO. EVER

We moved to our current address in JULY OF 13. Our only choice for internet service is thru Frontier. It's provider is Hughes net. We have had numerous issues with this company. I had a tech here for 6 weeks on an almost daily basis. We have become so frustrated with this internet and the fact that I am now paying $135.00+ a month for what they consider their best service. We still do not have access or limited access on a daily basis. Because Frontier is the provider of Hughes net we get nothing but the run around. They have installed 4 different routers and 2 modems. The dish has now been put on my roof and was told the signal is excellent. They do not ever solve these issues and I am paying thru the nose for horrible service. I am disabled and on a fixed income and they are draining me for more and more money to so called improve my internet. I now have had more than I can handle. It's been two years of total frustration.

The only reason they are getting one star is because its the lowest choice. Everything about their service is bad totally unusable, very poor customer service. Dont waste your time, one side note is that it did work for the first week or two, maybe hughsnet is making their money off cancellation fees

The worst internet service & customer service I've ever had to deal with. First of all it took 4 attempts to get a technician out here because no one ever showed up & when asked for a reason no one could come up with one. Then when we set up an appointment ourselves through a secondary company the guy was at our house until 11 AT NIGHT! The Internet service is just awful & doesn't work. You're paying for nothing. Netflix wouldn't work. Nothing basic would work at all. Everytime I would call tech support it took forever to even get an actual human and when you did they barely spoke English and couldn't umderstand what I was saying either. Overall this company is very frustrating. Makes you want to cuss out everyone you talk to at Hughes Net.

Rating...can't do a MINUS star! It is awful and they have broken THEIR contract since we have NO reliable/consistent service...is intermittent. Never stays up over 15 mins at a time. If we call, the tech wants to charge us $95 to check/fix their equipment. They have turned, moved, tightened dish and left old hardware sticking up out of our roof. What an awful company.


1.1 5.0 418 418 Was with Hughesnet for a total of 5 years. First 2 years by contract. Last 3, month to month. When I cancelled the service to go to Starlink, they were unwilling to prorate the Hughesnet Gen4 Satellite Internet
